meantime, rochelle walensky says officials are still gathering information on the overall effectiveness of the vaccine, but it says appears protection will peak about two weeks after the second dose. >> to be clear, we're learning how well these vaccines work against monkeypox and in this specific outbreak. although we anticipate vaccines will provide protection, primarily reducing or avoiding behaviors that increase your risk of monkeypox infection is important, especially during the first and second doses of the vaccine. >> the cdc has released new resources and tools to help communities train providers and health care professionals to administer the vaccine properly. >>> a new covid-19 booster will soon be available for everyone over the age of 12. the new vaccines are designed to specifically target the newer omicron subvariants ba.4 and ba.5. according to the cdc, the ba.5 strain accounts for nearly 90% of new covid cases in the u.s. doctors say the virus has evolved substantially since the first vaccine was approved, and that's why the fda pushed for a new vaccine to be developed.

rochelle walensky announced restructuring after an internal review found it did not react quickly enough to the covid-19 pandemic. there has been ongoing criticism of the agency's response to covid-19, monkeypox, and other public health threats. this new reorganization is focused on sharing scientific data faster and making new health guidance easier for the public to understand. walensky is appointing an executive to lead a team that will implement changes in the coming months. >>> the nation's leading abortions rights organization planned parenthood is making a massive investment in the november elections. the advocacy group wants to see more tearful victory scenes like this one in kansas two weeks ago after voters there rejected removing abortion protects from the state constitution. planned parenthood's political arm says it's spending a record $50 million in nine states leading up to november 8th. they include arizona, georgia, michigan, and minnesota. the money will support pro-choice candidates for governor, the u.s. senate, and other legislative races. >>> okay, audrey. the kids
