the track is just outside rochester, new york. he bumped into ward. ward goes into the guardrail and he is upset. he got out of the car and starts to go after stewart. the race is under caution. he is still out there. he gets in front of one car, stewart does not see him behind the other car and struck and killed right there. you can hear the engine revving just before ward is hit. there is a lot of talk of stewart's temper issues over the years. the tracks dimly lit. ward was all in black and should not have gone by the cars that were moving. tuferte released a statement saying there are not words to describe the sadness he feels about the accident that took the life of kevin ward jr. stewart decided he would not run in the nascar race at watkins glen adding his thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the tragedy. three hours ago, the sheriff in this county where this happened said there are no charges being filed against stewart, but the investigation is ongoing. it's pretty clear, even though tony stewart has issues, it was an accident.
