city. 67 elkton, about 70 degrees out in hagerstown and westminster, 72 bel air and columbia and rock hall in the state at this time. earlier we had action meander up the 95 corridor. what we want to watch is a significant frontal boundary move our way. this was the first major event of the year. behind this front it's not really going to get cold. what's happening is we've got some moisture from karen streaming up out ahead of this front. it's all being compressed to the 95 corridor. this front slices through the region today. we will see a thunderstorm today. there's a slight risk discussion. we're on the southern edge of it. not only are we going to get a fall thunderstorm but the highest risk is near montreal, canada. think about that. 79 degrees this day. 50 slow clearing over night. tomorrow a high of 70 degrees. i mentioned some remanence of karen streaming up the 95 corridor. the broad center of a low that was karen is going to get offshore in south carolina, georgia and may become a coastal low. we're not talking about a big tropical weather event. but a costal low that could clou

it's a hot day in october. 82 annapolis and kent island, rock hall. considering how pleasant it's been with temperatures generally in the upper 60s and 70s this is extremely unusual for october. we have a light northwest breeze bringing in that warm air that's all over the east coast. it's dominating our weather picture. there's not much in the way of precip. this cold front to the west is going to change our weather. shower activity along it. the track from karen kind of ending up somewhere southeast of atlanta by monday. it's going to be a long way off but some of that moisture may stream up towards our region. the front kind of squeezes this rain together. we do expect to see rain here monday and maybe lingering into tuesday and wednesday. speaking of precipitation, there's a snowstorm over wyoming, portions of colorado, western dakotas. here is karen. all the rain and clouds accelerate -- the center is here but all the activity is to the east because of dry air and a sheer in the environment is is pushing that moisture to the east. that's why this

we see temperatures from 63 in westminster, rock hall and kent island to 64 in columbia and bel air. southwest wind is ushering in that mild air flow. down towards easton and ocean city the winds are in the double digits at 12 miles per hour. you can see atlanta, memphis all their air is coming our direction. they are closer to 70. that's the air coming our way. also coming our way is a front. along with that front comes the chance for a pretty good batch of rain. the largest amount, the most steady rain should be holding off a little bit later tonight. we cannot rule out that there could be some showers early today as we've already seen. we've already seen the fog in the cloud cover and potentially some drizzle as the young ones are going out and about. the temperatures will be comfortable. they will not need the heavy jackets but may need something to keep the rain off if it a starts to get into the afternoon and evening. cooler temperatures will be in here tomorrow. it's going to get breezy. 6:06 your sunset time today. 69 degrees today, variably clouds and warm. here's your forec

yep. 60 annapolis, 61 rock hall. now we move inland. down to 57, 59, 59 et cetera and the beat goes on. a slight bay breeze, a light sea breeze. that's going to intensify as we move over the next let's say 24 hours as this fairly well organized low starts to make real end roads into the mid atlantic. here's that pressure of 30.33. this low cannot get out of its own way. it's trapped like a stream. it's going to take it a few days to completely clear the region. by the way, there could be some gails right along the shore, windy inland, certainly breezy along the western shore of the way. we will see if any advisories go up on the chesapeake over the next 24 hours. the fact of the matter is this, we'll have gray skies through tuesday. as this low continues to travel northeast we can't assume there's not going to be some moisture band around it and slide down into the area. so to be honest about it, we could use some rain. to be honest about it, we don't know if it's going to get out of here by the weekend. to be more than honest about it,

one of the lower spots on the map. 70 in rock hall. 60 in annapolis. winds are calm across central maryland, but we have a bit of a south flow. variable wind around the area where it is actually blowing. here is what is going on, we will bring you into the picture here. high pressure is dominating the forecast. down around the north carolina and south carolina on the georgia line. it is the clockwise flow that continues to bring in the warm air up into the region. the temperatures into the 80s. here is the line this is distinguishing where tropical storm karen will follow on monday and tuesday. there is a cold front to the west that will move into the region and interact with karen, helping it it to move up and into the region. that's what is going on. the cold front will bring a good bit of rain and act as a lifting mexico. in. here is tropical storm karen after a minimum tropical storm at 40 miles per h hour. it will start to move into the region. as it does, it will pickup speed. the cold front will get ahold of it. that is on monday. we will start

around the immediate metro area, 42 bel air, 50 rock hall, 46 in annapolis. water temperatures around 50 degrees, so that's kind of moderating the temperatures around water. not quite as cold as you get inland. here's a shift in the winds that's going to dictate temperatures. we had a northwest wind bringing in. cold canadian air tapped into a very cold air mass. now the winds have shifted to the southwest. the southwest means we tap into what our neighbors are already experiencing. memphis at 55, atlanta at 44. they are warmer than what we are, and that's the air coming in our general direction. high-pressure has carved out a pretty fair amount of dry conditions for us in much of the country except where this is back toward texas and one offer on the great lakes. it's really been dry. the slipper on the great lakes has been associated with some of the clouds we had. it's a low pressure system with a front that's been dragging back toward texas and moved across the area. as you can see, scattered clouds as a result. but it moves through dry, so we are not goi
