several candidates crisscrossing the state before landing in rock hill tonight for a forum. a lot at stake after the votes in iowa and new hampshire and no one follows it closer than this guy here professor of political science at catawba college. the latest polls out of south carolina they showed donald trump with a big lead over ted cruz and you see the rest of the field there. do we throw this out? >> well, this gives us a clue as to what is going into south carolina but we need new numbers because of what has happened in iowa and new hampshire. particularly the big bump that donald trump coming out of new hampshire. >> and someone else getting the bump was john kasich and pushed his chips in the middle of the table and now he has a week-and-a-half to try to build a campaign in south carolina? >> it is really hard to get that grassroots ground game up and running. south carolina is not made for john kasich. this is going to be the battle between donald trump and ted cruz. and whoever can come in third. i think that is going to be the key coming out of south carolina. >> a
