mention, an elderly man died he was apparently rescued out every his home here on the 1800 block of rockland street in the logan section transported to einstein hospital where he did later die. apparently, this fire started on the first floor in the back of the home near the kitchen area. the elderly man was found he was lying on a couch, in the front of the home. again, on the first floor. he was apparently home alone. he did have working smoke detectors, they were going off, at this point fire officials are not certain as to why the man couldn't escape. but he is older. essay parentally military veteran did have some sort of disability. fire crews found walker inside the house. what we don't know is a cause of the fire at the time. firefighters are reminding people of of various cold weather safety tips, space heaters of the course need 3 feet of space, don't try to use alternative sources of heat to like for instance appliance in the kitchen also, don't leave food unattended in the kitchen. and while fire working in these freezing temperatures is typically ma major challenge for fire crew
