we saw that the victim may have been crossing at the gates at 87th and rockwell. now we learn he was actually walking alongside the railroad when he was hurt. police have wrapped up this portion of the investigation collecting evidence. at last check we understand the victim was in the surgery having suffered serious or critical injuries but the nature of those injuries have not been released. what we do know about what happened, police tell us they were called just before 1:00 this morning to the area a sergeant on the scene says the victim was found wearing earphones and may not have heard the train coming. the train was heading south to the area there is a no horn the zones of the conductor may not have been allowed to blow his horn to let him know he was coming by we did see the road crossing gates signals down as the train was approaching so we do know those are working. a spokeswoman for the railroad says that she is a where someone was injured this morning but the railroad is doing their own investigation to determine whether the injuries were related to be
