i grew up about 7 miles from the rocky flats nuclear weapons plant. and, actually, our first house was about 7 miles away, and then in 1969 we moved to a subdivision called bridledale which was closer to the plant, about 3, 3.5 miles away from rocky flats. my sisters and brother and i, we had an idyllic childhood in the sense that we had horses and dogs, and we spent a lot of time outdoors riding our horses in the fields around the plant and swimming in a lake. and we never knew what went on at rocky flats. we had no idea what it really was. and we had no idea of the environmental contamination that was happening in the area. plutonium, tritium, carbon tet ro chloride and a number of different things in the environment, and we had no idea. later, like many kids in my neighborhood, i worked at the plant myself, and, um, got a sense of what it was like to be on the nofdz the plant. there was one evening when i came home from working at rocky flats and turned on the television, and there was a show on nightline that, it was an expose of what was really h
