. >> the roger b. taney statue stood right here on this pedestal for 145 years, and overnight by 2 a.m. that statue was removed. there were people in this area including local lawmakers who had been working for over a decade to have this statue taken down. no word yet on where it will be housed. i want to show you some video that we took overnight of the statue being removed. trucks came in, a big crane took the statue down and then trucked it out of the area. it took a few hours, and the scene was really peaceful. there were a few people that came out with their cameras literally to to watch the statue come down. a very quiet and stark contrast to other areas around the country where there were protests, where there was violence around similar situations where other confederate statues have come down. there's one local delegate who says she was very emotional seeing this statue come down. >> i started working on getting rid of this statue in 2007, so it's been a decade-long quest. i am so happy to be here t
