former secretary kris kobach is facing off against a number of candidates including congressman roger marshalll republican establishment in kansas and big names there including bob dole. kobach has a strong following of his own. he ran for governor in 2018 and had president trump's endorsement but still lost the race by a considerable margin and put a democrat in the governor's mansion. republicans fear if he wins this time around kansas may choose to send a democrat to the senate come november. both marshall and kobach that show them side-by-side with president trump. president trump hasn't made an endorsement in the race this time around. outside democratic donors are spending millionss to help them sway it in one direction. >> democrat support in $3 to $4 million into the race obliquely but in favor of kobach who they see as the weaker candidate. >> there was a lot of talk earlier this secretary of state mike pompeo, a hero there, would consider jumping into the race. it didn't happen this time and a lot of talk whether or not he would endorse anyone. we haven't seen one yet. what is intere
