we turn on the phone to senator roger wicker who was outside the capitol today and heard some of the shots. senator, thank you for being with us today. a difficult day down at the capit capitol. what can you tell us? >> i can tell you that around 2:15 i was walking back from the senate side of the capitol toward my office, and the first thing i notice is the officers were beginning to put on flak jackets in a hurry. there was no confusion. i didn't hear anything else, and then we began to hear sirens and then some police motorcycles went past me at a very high rate of speed, and about that time i heard gunshots. i'd say four to six shots were fired. and, of course, i was walking in the direction of the gunshots, so i stopped, and i noticed senator bernie sanders of vermont was headed my way. we both took cover behind an suv, and then police officers came and told us to get down. i guess you people in the press would be proud to know that some folks with television cameras were running toward the shots and disregarding the admonition of the policemen, but senator sanders and i did tak
