two homestead i will say something about central park, it's not just learning about the greensburg plan but we were learning about the impact of betsy rogers and maryam cramer and realizing these places are so important because of their design and their stewardship and how generations of people tend to these places over time and i think that's really driven me professionally. i think duke and stanford were interested because their similarities and very much different also. when i came to duke there was an anticipation that i'm going to homestead brothers campus and there's going to be heritage and legacy that people are going to care about. i was surprised when i got there that that was not true at all there are two things to know about duke there very obsessive architecture and to the do not consider themselves historic were about to celebrate our 100 year centennial but when you compare duke to yell in the other schools are trying to ambulate, the relatively young and as a historic landscape has been a talent. when i got to duke, people knew the name homestead, with a few people knew the olmsted brothers had a big role in the design of t
