a person is now in custody, accused of homicide over 40 years ago near rohnert park.nd the body of noel russo. she'd been beaten to death. detectives from the violent crime investigations unit worked on this case for years, and they submitted evidence for dna analysis, and results came back positive to one of the original persons of interest, alfredo cordero, jr. the 65 year old from lakeport was arrested on monday and booked into the sonoma county jail on a murder charge. walnut creek police say officers interrupted a burglary in progress at the louis vuitton store after thieves used a car to break in. it happened just before 430 yesterday morning. police say officers were on the scene within one minute of getting that call and saw roughly two dozen people attempting to burglarize that store. the suspects used a stolen land rover to crash through the front window to gain access. sky fox is over the location at broadway plaza yesterday, and you can see crews there repairing that window. the suspects fled in four different directions. it's unclear how much merchandise

the far north bay where one person is in custody accused of a homicide over 40 years ago near rohnert park. authorities in june of 1983 found the body of noel russo. she'd been beaten to death. detectives from the violent crime investigation unit worked on this case for years and submitted evidence for dna analysis. this results came back positive to one of the original persons of interest, but alfredo otero jr, the 65 year old from lakeport, was arrested monday and booked into sonoma county jail on a murder charge. a man who says to san rafael police officers used excessive force in arresting him last year testified he suffered a concussion and multiple injuries during his arrest. it's part of a preliminary hearing to determine if the officers will be put on trial. body camera video shows officers taking julio lopez to the ground. the hearing resumes on tuesday. oakland police say they are stepping up efforts to prevent car break ins. officers have launched an undercover operation and last thursday, police say they caught seven people in the act. officers recovered, three catalytic conver
