roker. hey, dylan what are we looking at >> we had a bit of a break from the extreme heat but it started building back up yesterday yesterday we had 65 million people at risk for a heat advisory, heat watch or warning. we have an area of high pressure once they move in, they set up shop for a while that's why the heat will stick around this ridge allows the heat to pump in. we're not just looking at the heat but humidity. typical for august look at st. louis. it will feel like 112. little rock feels like 109 same in dallas and new orleans san antonio will feel like 108 on tuesday it pushes a little farther to the south but across the south it stays exceptionally hot, uncomfortably so with heat indices, 110 to 115 degrees. as we get to the middle of the week, temperatures drop down just a bit memphis goes down to 89 on wednesday. 87 on thursday there you see on friday it jumps right back up to 90 degrees. we will see the heat pour back in as we go into the week. raleigh ends off the workweek

roker. what's going on? >> we're seeing a lot of tropical activity, start in the pacific right now., it's weakened, 90 miles per hour winds. flossie right now, 1,675 miles east of hilo and the tracks put erick to the south and flossie to the north but we'll continue to watch flossie as we get into the early part of next week. the tropical wave right now down around the bahamas and cuba in between. that's going to bring wet weather to the south eastern atlantic that's not the worst we see right now. what we really are watching is this tropical wave it's around the leeward islands. it's got a 70% chance of development through the next five days. as you can see it gets upwards to the islands and a ways away from the mainland u.s., but these islands have to be concerned about this that's w i am meteorologist, kari hall. a live look outside in san francisco where it's misting and drizzling right now. low clouds will continue for the next hour before we see some clearing. temperatures today reach the upper 60s there, and low 70s for oakland and 78 degrees for palo alto. upper 80s in antio
