and finally christy romer says, mr. president, actually there isn't, there isn't any plan for citigroup. obama says, there better be. he's angry. what do you mean there's no plan? all of a sudden romer feels emanuel's gaze on her. the meeting breaks up, emanuel and summers huddle. emanuel's livid. he says, i can't believe she said that without tim geithner being here to defend himself. forget about the material issues. summers reports to romer minutes after. yes, yes, christy, rahm was livid. he would say that -- you would say that without tim here to defend himself. but, christy, i defended you. i said, jesus, rahm, she's right. there isn't a plan. i asked the president about this. it wasn't an easy moment in our interview at the end of the process. i said, you were agitated. he said, i'm not sure if agitated would be the exact word i'd use. i said, how'd you feel, what'd you say to tim? i don't remember exactly. well, the bureaucracy wasn't moving as fast as i wanted. i'm not sure the you'd call your treasury secretar

ask buddy romer. he looks like a one-man show. a piece from "the washington post" gives a lack of enthusiasm for him. the rally was scheduled to start at 6:00. roemer arrived 15 minutes early with two of his aids. they looked at the watch and realized the parking meter he received four $20 tickets in the last month. fearful of more tickets they tauzed to r every two urs. governor, we better deal with your car now. okay, said the governor, let's call it a night. there's no audience here, anyway. not quite the image associated with a presidential campaign, is it? i think calling it a night might apply to the roemer campaign. >>> next, "your business" with j.j. ramberg. what is that? it's you! it's me? alright emma, i know it's not your favorite but it's time for your medicine, okay? you ready? one, two, three. and bear in mind, governor romer is the voice in this year's presidential election for this agenda. and it reads as follows -- "far more defeating were the external expectations of a modern presidential campaign, by which his always fell short. most early debates invited only candidates who had at least 2% support in five national polls, but sometimes romer wasn't even included in five national polls. another debate required candidates who have raised $500,000. that's funny. in the past 90 days, he had managed only half of that." again, he's running to get money out, mind you. "the florida republican party picked nine people for its ballot and chose not to include him. south carolina charges $35,000 to be on its ballot, so roemer decided to run there as a write-in." i guess they don't want you in the conversation. >> that's fair. who wants to hear about running for president and taking four $1 million checks. that's mitt romney. who wants to hear about a man who has seven super pacs? that's rick perry. who wants to hear about a man's money be described as a lobbyist for the top 1%.

>> let's talk about people like buddy romer, trying really hard but now it's a moderate group calls americanslion. he may be the candidate of their party. does that hold any water? >> the interesting thing, obama campaign, they are seriously worried about americans -- it's credible and they have money behind them. the question for them is given the backers are wall street money, what kind of candidate can actually gal vannize opinion to be anything more than a spoiler in the 2, 3 point range and that would be someone criticizing the system, anti-wall street, would the americans elect give americans that choice of ab anti-wall street candidate given where the money has come from. in the case of europe exploding, another recession or significant down turn in this economy again, it's going to be a strong anti-establish -- anti-privileged message that really breaks through. then you're talking about a third party that can get 10 or 15 or 20%. >> that's the calculation too. it's not just whether the third party candidate wins but what he or she would do to the race in terms of the numbers. we will
