chief meteorlogist ron demers joins us now to answer that question, ron? winter weather advisory in effect today until 6 pm for southern siouxland & 9 pm for eastern siouxland it was a day of freezing rain, sleet, and snow across much of siouxland. ktiv saw 1.3" of snow after a little freezing rain and sleet fell first this morning. there was a heavier coating of ice to the south and east of sioux city. the mixed precipitation is quickly moving to the east leaving us with a drier night ahead. temperatures will continue to fall through the 20s and eventually bottom out in the teens so be careful of some slick roadways continuing into thanks. and with thanksgiving comes traditional thanksgiving food. that was enjoyed today at the gospel mission in sioux city. the shelter opened its doors for the public to come have a meal. volunteers came from around the community and included individuals as well as families hoping to give back.
