attorney general eric holder and director ron davis have exhibited real leadership during this difficult time. we'd know that loretta lynch will provide that leadership once she is confirmed as attorney general. i am honored to serve this year as the president of the u.s. conference of mayors and glad to be joined on this panel bypassed president michael nutter and vice president stephanie rawlings blake. these are two outstanding leaders for our organization and their respective cities. the conference's leadership had an initial discussion on what we can learn from what happened in ferguson during a leadership meeting in sacramento in september. we discussed this further at a mayor and police chiefs meeting on the 20th anniversary of the cops program in little rock arkansas. that meeting was attended by president clinton and made possible to the -- through the generous support of the cops office. following little rock, i appointed a working group of mayors and police chiefs chaired by gary with developing recommendations for local actions and intended to improve policing in america. amo
