ron allen, nbc news, philadelphia >>> and tonight in sacramento california they're mourning the death of a young police officer who was killed in the line of duty just months she after graduated from the police academy. miguel almaguer has her story. >> reporter: the procession for officer tara o'sullivan wound through the very streets she gave her life to protect the 26-year-old rookie killed while responding to a domestic dispute in sacramento. she was shot as she helped a woman gather her belongings from a home adel ramos suddenly opened fire. it took 50 minutes for an armored vehicle to reach her officers took cover. >> there are no words to convey the depth of the sadness we feel >> reporter: a prominent figure in recruiting videos, o'sullivan becomes the second young female officer to be killed in the region this year, now another tragic loss. >> she was a hero. she's a role model to so many people >> reporter: tonight a somber salute to a rookie officer who lost her life as she was just starting her career. >>> tonight another american city held hostage by a cyber attack has decided to pay ransom to hackers, and it's raising questions about whether that may just encourage more criminals. gabe gutierr
