ron mott joins me live now. we have reports that city council members may try to oust ford if he doesn't go on his own. what more can you tell us about those reports? >> reporter: hey, there, craig. one council member in particular says that if the mayor won't leave, they are going to have to show him the door. there's a movement afoot to see in the government here in ontario will step in. they don't seem to get clined to get involved. they are looking at writing new legislation to give them the power to force the mayor for office. in fact, one gentleman just stopped by the camera position, has he quit yet? and the answer is not as of now. >> what are family members saying about all of this? >> reporter: there seems to be a split now because as you know, his brother doug is a counselor in toronto. on the air he says he thinks it may not be a bad idea for his brother to take a couple weeks off from the job to get his life in orders and come back when he's healthier. last night his mother and sister said they don'

ron mott joins us from the federal court in boston where things wrapped up today and day two tomorrownd the judge has offered an opportunity for whitey bulger to speak as well at this hearing? >> caller: yes, she did. hi there, i want to let everyone know, you might hear banging behind me. there's construction going on outside the courthouse. the judge did give him an opportunity to address the court. he stood up really the only physical activity he had and he finished telling his lawyers what she was offering him, nope and sat down. that was it. for the most part all of these victim's family members addressed the court. he sat with his head peering down and pen in his right hand writing whatever. and really expressed no emotion at all as one after another the family members told the court how the loss of the loved ones affected their lives, some of them as small as 6 or 7 or even younger. a lot of victims wanted to get a lot of anger off their chest. one woman got up and asked him, mr. bulger, would you please turn around to at least look at us? he did not. his attorney afterward sai

. >> ron mott joins us right now. the judge who made this decision for this new trial said that skakel's trial attorney, michael sherman, failed to adequately represent him in 2002 when he was convicted and he also said that the attorney failed to locate a witness who backed up skakel's alibi. i think a lot of people wonder after so many attempts to appeal how this worked this time. >> well, i think tamron, a lot of folks are asking what happens now because when the judge made that ruling, took a most unusual turn. skakel went from being presumed innocence when he was indicted, he was found guilty in 2002 and he's presumed innocent in the death of martha moxley back in 1975. the state says they believe they have pretty good evidence in this case that won them a conviction in 2002. but what happens now is that they're going to appeal this judge's ruling. if that's overturned, then michael skakel can be returned to prison with no new trial. if it's upheld, then the state has to make the decision about whether it's worth
