for example rona who is like a lowe's or home depot who is supplying or providing paint. they are a sponsor of my program. so, they provide me a 45% discount on paint as well as they give me a 25% discount coupon that we give to everybody. they supply the materials for my wipe outs, they supply the paint for my wipe out. cis -- not cis, seco paint has been providing paint the last number of years for wipe out. i know it's discouraging, but i think what i've found in terms of getting corporate sponsorship is starting at your local store and working it that way, trying to get them on board. and once you get them on board on small little events, then piece them off to get the bigger ones. so, for example, glad bag sponsors our 15 to clean program. they provide all the bags and all the gloves for our whole spring campaign. and it's possible. so does safeway. safeway sponsors one of our litter programs where they -- we pay nonprofit groups to go in the community, pick garbage for 16 weeks during the summer, and they pay those. safeway as well as many other groups pay those vol

that's what rona is talking about in her book.most valuable resource. and once it's gone, it's gone for good. a lot of us don't stop and think about how to allocate our time. we call it the new american epidemic. we're too rushed, too busy, too many work obligations, family obligations. the time in life is to get rich in time. so there's a systematic way to think about how to allocate your time. only three things to do. have fun, be productive and give back. so if it falls -- >> if your friends don't fall into that. >> if it falls out of those, then -- >> some people have toxic friends who they like, you know, most of the time and then there's like 15% of the time where that person brings you down and they aren't great. >> you have to consider not only how you use your time but what they do to you. it's not just the time you're with them but the time you are spending worrying about them. and is the toxicity something you feel is hurting you or hurting people you care about? and is it turning you into a friend you don't like to be.

rona, i'm going to start with you. first thing people are asking themselves is what does this mean to me? what does this mean for my mortgage? >> well, it depends what legislation comes out of congress. right now the federal government and state governments together implicitly or explicitly back 80% of these mortgages. the idea of slowing moving these away from the underpinning of the federal government is smart idea. that's been the problem. throughout the recovery, banks haven't been making loans to real people. so far the recovery has been investors led, by people who have cash on hand, people who need a 30-year mortgage have had a tough time getting one. what the president wants to do is ensure whatever legislation is passed gets the government out of the housing market while still making enough provisions that people can get those 30-year mortgages that they need. >> jim, do you think that these steps for getting the government out of the housing market not entirely but to a large degree will help insulate taxpaye

that's what rona is talking about in her book.nd then there's like 15% of the time where that person brings you down and they aren't great. >> you have to consider not only how you use your time but what they do to you. it's not just the time you're with them but the time you are spending worrying about them. and is the toxicity something you feel is hurting you or hurting people you care about? and is it turning you into a friend you don't like to be. friendships really need to be reciprocal and you need a sense that it doesn't have to be exactly even but there has to be a reciprocity. >> if you are a person that's growing in life and with a friend you've had for 30 years that has never, ever had a new thought -- but how do you do it nicely? >> there's a very simple method. i came up with an exercise called rate your friends. just make a list of everyone you are spending time with. and then put one of three marks next to their name. a negative, a zero and a positive. so a negative is someone who is draining you of your energy. th
