our rosa flores joins us with more details. rosa? >> hi, pamela. we are getting new details at this hour. police tell us that they have a person of interest on the watch. this person is still on the loose, they tell us. the name kenneth stanzell probably about 20 years old. authorities believe he knew the victim in this particular case. authorities not telling us any motive at this point in time, but here is what we know, pamela. according to authorities at about 8:10 today, there was at shooter who entered that campus and on the third floor near the library, one of those buildings, shots rang out. one person was found dead and from what we know from authorities, only that individual has been injured. authorities have given us a description of this particular man by the name of kenneth stancele in his 20s. bald white male, 5'11", tatto over his left eye, goatee, blue jacket, light colored jeans. we've learned multiple law enforcement authorities on the ground have set a perimeter and they have evacuated that campus and are looking actively for this

we begin our team coverage with cnn's rosa flores on the outrage. >> emotions are high across the countryowing some of the cities that do have some of these protests. let me tell you something, there's a common message here. and that message is that police brutality is a national issue. now, some of the worst protests right here in new york city. take a look at this video. about 100 people were arrested. the evening started off very peacefully but hear this. it erupted when there was a small scuffle between police and protesters. 20 people ended up in zip ties. and then protesters started marching towards times square. and it only got worse. again, about 100 people ended up in handcuffs. we move onto washington, d.c. the situation here more festive than confrontational. a lot of these protesters singing on the streets. once they moved to the white house, that crowd of about 500 disbursed.
