santa rosa looking at 67. 67 in danville and fremont today, 68 degrees. we are once again tracking that rain as we start to see the cloud cover increasing later today and winds picking up, too. the rain starts to move to the north bay right about midnight. it could be heavy at times. a lot of that rain does weaken as it continues to move farther to the south making it by 6:00 in the morning. then we will have showers tapering off, maybe a couple sprinkles left the rest of the morning and winds pick up as the skies clear as that system continues to move to the east. we'll also be watching to see how much rain we get out of this system because it doesn't look like much unless you're farther to the north and you have a tenth of an inch and closer to .2 of an inch and other spats and san jose morgan hill not a lot of moisture with this. it would be nice to wring out a little bit more rain but looks like a nice one. in the sierra we see shades of blue with possibility of snow and behind that in lower elevationsplacerville, we have rain there and even in the af

as you look over santa rosa you might think there's more on the way but pretty much it's dried up. for us we'll just have clouds as we head in to sunset on sunday night. the numbers are in the upper 50s right now and there's the rain as we showed you a few minutes ago. while we've got clouds being reported from santa rosa all the way down through san jose and beyond. no rain really. it's all moved offshore and down in to monterey county and beyond that in to san luis obispo county. there's the low pressure, moving east of san diego. another little low will follow that. a ridge bubbles up, showers taper off tonight. tomorrow we'll get a peek or two at sun. we didn't do badly. this is really weird. i don't remember when there was more rain in the east bay than there is in the peninsula, and more in both places than in the santa cruz mountains. just .36 of an inch. walnut creek picked up 1.14 because we had had the rain moving easterly. a lot of the moisture got wrung out first. sausalito had .84 of an inch according to my trusty rain gauge. on the futurecast we've got mostly cloudy s

now looking at a closer look around santa rosa, we have splotchy light rain. this is not a widespread heavy downpour. in novato, you see the rain that may be affecting the roads down 101. moving into san francisco with spotty rain. that is what we will see for the next couple of hours. around us, heavier rain, then the winds turn gusty as those storms clear off to the east. rainfall totals may reach about 1/4 inch for los gatos to san jose. as you go towards oakland and san francisco may have 1/2 inch of rain. especially with the next round of showers this afternoon. a look at all the microclimates. it will be cooler today. upper 50s to lower 60s. mid 60s in spots. fairfield 67 and fremont 65. then as we go into the weekend, we'll see all of this clearing out. highs reaching into the mid 60s in the peninsula and 65 on sunday. maybe slightly cooler in some of those coastal spots. if you're heading out tomorrow for autism speaks, i'll be there. come and give some support for autism speaks. our temperatures will be very comfortable. lots more sunshine and highs r

take a look at where we may have a few light scattered showers falling. santa rosa through petaluma. sausalito looks like you have wet weather overhead. crossing into the golden gate bridge and into san francisco. we have some right here on the sunset district. daly city. all the way to edgemar. and san francisco getting wet at the moment. at&t park if you are going to the giants game, i'll have your forecast. in the east bay, highway 24, oakland to lafayette, we have light rain there. 680 over san ramon. 580 over livermore. we have some that continues right over the diablo range. at the top of the hour, i showed you some of the rainfall amounts in the last 24 hours. half inch even more than that. that is some good news. and as we get into the sierra, the snow is falling below pass level at this point. you are going to need chains or snow tires as you get up there. an advisory is in place until 8:00 this evening. and the winds. take a look. concord sustained at 20. gusting to 30. and napa gusting to 34. san jose, you have a gust to 20 miles an hour. scattered shower

take a look at santa rosa at 64 degrees. notice a big warming trend over the next two days but here's a closer look at the wind speeds. most locations are seeing it less than 10 miles-per-hour. satellite radar shows low pressure over the area and a very strong on shore off flow and that will help the temperatures peak up into the 90s. then we start to see a cooling trend, but as far as wednesday is concerned we have some tips for you. some of the south bay into the 90ss and you should drink water and never leave children and pets in a hot car. we want everyone the stay safe and the forecast shows us that we'll see the low 80s and low 90s on wednesday. we drop on thursday and then cooler temperatures back into the 80s. for the rest of the work week i'm tracking cooler temperatures and we'll go over all of that in about 15 minutes. >>> also coming up, it's the alleged abuse at a local school and now another family is coming forward saying they are a victim and it's an interview you will only see here. >>> plus, a lot of contro

as we look out toward the golden gate bridge the numbers are on the chill side near the coast but inland, 69 degrees. oakland 63. livermore 67. and in santa rosa and in san jose, in the mid-60s for the most part. and here's how it looks. a big h, that high pressure is now straight on top of northern california. the ridge will hold through this weekend even as the low tries to send moisture our way. it will go north where the pacific northwest will get rain. we might get clouds on sunday. in the meantime, tomorrow looks nice. plenty of sunshine for the bay area. futurecast does show the low clouds will be packing back in along the shoreline tonight. by 1:00 in the afternoon, though, tomorrow, looks like we have mostly sunny skies except along the sonoma county coastline where the low clouds should persist. plenty of sun as the day goes on low clouds come back in again tomorrow night. look what happens sunday afternoon by 3:00. widespread high clouds in advance of this cold front. by the time it gets to the bay area, there's just not much left. so we'll increase clouds on sunday but tomorrow looks good. no rain, maybe a little drizzle at night.
