rosemary: good morning, i'm rosemary connors for "nbc10 @issue." we begin with the passing of phillies legend darren daulton. his death has many people wondering about a possible cluster of brain cancer. daulton, affectionately known as dutch, died last week at the age of 55. he was with the phillies for 14 seasons. four years ago, daulton was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer known as glioblastoma. daulton is now the fifth former philly to die from that disease. nbc10's keith jones spoke to a surgeon who treated one of those players, and he wonders if the old veterans stadium could be the link. keith jones: you got to believe. tug mcgraw's strikeout to win the 1980 world series. tug mcgraw: i've never seen this kind of baseball, never been a part of this kind of baseball, never been prouder to be a professional baseball player. keith: lasting memories in veterans stadium that led to the phill's first ride down broadstreet. but mcgraw would be diagnosed with brain cancer and pass in 2004. so would ken brett and johnny oates. three y

i'm rosemary church, and that is "cnn newsroom." >>> u.s. president donald trump is lashing out at congress after reluctantly signing their bill laying new sanctions on russia. it had almost unanimous tomorrow on capitol hill, but mr. trump took issue with one thing above all, the bill prevents him from undoing sanctions against moscow without congressional approval. he says that's a mistake because it limits his ability to strike good deals for the american people. the sanctions target russian energy and defense sectors. there are also penalties for banks and foreign governments working with north korea. and iran gets punished as well for alleged human rights violations and its weapons programs. mr. trump elaborated on his objections, saying this. since this bill was first introduced, i have expressed my concerns to congress about the many ways it improperly encroaches on executive power. disadvantages american companies, and hurts the interests of our european allies. the bill remains seriously flawed particularly because it encroaches on

rosemary, is today the cooler day of the week? will we see a warm up? >> yes, the weather pattern will change and for many that's a happy thought. we have been cloudy and cool all day. they did not clear up for many portions of the bay area. everybody cool down even inland reached only into the 70s today. at this hour santa rosa is 73, san francisco 60s and 67 in livermore and low 70s and san jose. it feels like fall for many. looking at the temperature change, as we mentioned today was the coolest day with temperatures beginning to rebound as early as tomorrow. looking at the cloud cover that's along the coast and the south bay is covered in clouds. for the afternoon and evening the onshore breeze will continue. fairfield is reporting wind at 24 miles per hour and concorde 18 miles per hour gusting to 24. a cool day and cloudy breezy day. the system is bringing us unseasonably mild weather and it will push east. we will begin a warming trend tomorrow. future cast model overnight shows tomorrow morning mostly cloudy with everyone seeing patchy drizzle t

. >>> let's bring in rosemary to find out what is in store for those in texas and also louisiana.>>> locally, i should say in texas the rain will continue for coming days because harvey continues to ride along the coastline. look at where it is right now, it still a job store with winds -- tropical storm. the movement is the problem, it's been very slow. because of that, the same areas are continuing to get hammered and will continue to do so at -- as it barely moved inland. if we look at the satellite you can see galveston and especially houston is continuing with moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms and a possibility of tornadoes will continue for the next few days. this is a 48 hour time lapse. you would still see the same thing if i went out 72 hours. it is right over houston where we continue to see rain for the week. looking at harvey over the coming days, it did look like it would track over houston by wednesday and now it looks like it will shift east and ride along the border of texas and louisiana and, sure wednesday into thursday. it doesn't look like it will strengthen.

let's get an update with our meteorologist rosemary orozco. >>> we are get started, temperatures will climb through the week and the weekend. there's a lot more sunshine out there today we had clearing earlier and our temperatures came up quickly during the afternoon. this is a beautiful shot over san francisco. it's currently 66 degrees and santa rosa is 81 degrees. oakland 71 and 90 degrees and livermore at this hour and 80 in san jose. that's warmer than yesterday up by 10 degrees in livermore and 13 degrees in concord. if we look north, 15 degrees warmer than yesterday. the cloud cover, it's just hazy and for now we have partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. the onshore breeze is still with us but it's weaker than it's been from 10 to 15 miles per hour reported around fairfield , concorde and stronger in oakland. tomorrow morning, upper 50s and low 60s in the south bay of san jose, mid-60s in the far inland communities. it will be warmer during the afternoon in the low to mid 90's for the inland communities and upper portions of the east bay livermore and antioch. a lot of 70s arou

.>>> let's visit romer he -- rosemary orozco.>>> it was warmer for most of us, we are going to see that trend stop right here. we have a cooldown for the weekend. we have a little bit of haze and the clouds are still up against part of the coastline. temperatures are feeling nice, at least for this time of year. santa rosa 79, 64 in san francisco, upper 60s in oakland and 88 in livermore. 79 in san francisco. the winds have been onshore all day, and north breeze from novato at 18 miles per hour and oakland northwest 14 miles per hour. today was the warmest day, we will see changes as we get into saturday and sunday. monday looks like it could be one of the coolest day. it never cleared over the north bay, areas through half moon bay were moving -- we will move in closer and it did pull back and thin out but it did not go away. looking at the monterey area and santa cruz was mostly sunny with the fog offshore. during the evening, temperatures will cool and tomorrow morning we will see mid-60s in antioch, 57 oakland, 56 in san francisco. we will have the low clouds in the bay and we will

. >>> let's check in with rosemary to find out our forecast for us in the bay area. >> we have some great weather for our teams playing this weekend. we have some very nice weather for the afternoon, temperatures will be coming down, today is going to be the warmest day. when i say warmest we are talking by a few degrees. when we cool down it will be by a few degrees. giving you a look toward san francisco, low clouds are still in place. temperatures are a few degrees warmer for some, 61 in the city, upper 60s in oakland, areas like walnut creek in the upper 60s. the onshore breeze is with us, although not as robust as earlier in the week. looking over napa and we have a southerly breeze and an onshore breeze in oakland. storm tracker to continues to track the fog over portions of the north bay. we have partly cloudy skies, maybe just south of half moon bay. moving in a little closer in the last half hour we haven't seen a whole lot of changes. afternoon sunshine expected for most of san francisco. right there along the west edge we are looking at sunshine for most. temperature wise, 60s

okay let's turn it over to rosemary to find out about your bay area forecast. >> yeah.nly minor changes from day to day. today we happen too be slightly warmer in many spots. outside of that we are dealing with a lot of what we have been seeing. take a look at the number. san francisco 56 degrees. meanwhile santa rosa checking in at the 70s. livermore mid-70s and san jose 71 degrees. micro clue mate pattern in place for some time and will stick around. here is a look at 24 hour temperature change. up by a couple degrees in areas like santa rose a. the inner east bay. a more notable change for you this afternoon with livermore up by six degrees or so. into the afternoon the clouds will continue to pull back. i do think we will be partly to mostly cloudy. for the coastline. at least most of it from the north bay down through ocean beach, half moon bay, santa cruz looks like you may get a little bit of clearing in to the afternoon. this is the time l aps e of a few hours. over the last few hours, hour, we have watched as it's peeled away from the east bay. partly cloudy sk

.>>> let's switch gears and bring in rosemary orozco, when you look at the fire let's talk about the conditions. >> it's a warm day out there, it could be worse. i see temperatures ranging from 80 degrees in and around napa to 90 degrees closer to our area. the winds are onshore at 20 miles per hour and they could pick up. we know that weather plays a direct factor in how hot and fast this fire burns. we are definitely in good weather for this time of year, it could be hotter and breezier for those out there. the temperatures will continue to cool down. the onshore breeze brings a muted 80 -- the humidity out. while it is dry and hot, we are in the midst of fire season. temperatures and the wind are working for the firefighters. looking at the numbers, it's 81 degrees in napa and closer to the bay it's cool in san francisco 62 degrees, 70 in hayward, 80s in livermore and the low 90s in concorde. temperatures warmer today by a few degrees in most area. we will see a switch for the weekend as temperatures come down. monday looks like it could be one of the coolest days. i will show you
