nbc 10 rosemary conners monitoring. what do you see on spring garden street. >> reporter: we're on the spring garden street bridge. coming from west philadelphia. heading towards 76. about to get on 76 west here. we'll get on the ramp in just a moment. we're still seeing that freezing rain. in fact on the windshield looks more like rain. you can hear it coming down and in little pellets. i just got off the phone with contacts over at pen dot. they've got two operations running simultaneously right now. so on roads like 76 and 95 where you've got less than an inch of snow accumulating. they're doing salting in suburbs north and west. reporting live in storm four 10 on 76 west. rose mary conners back to you. >> thanks for that. >>> we continue to check conditions at philly international as well. snowplowing operations there. today all flights from southwest, frontier and jet blue are cancelled. american airlines won't be flying in our out until 5:00 tonight. we'll keep you updated as we get new information from the airpor

. >>> rosemary conners in storm 4 ten checking road conditions in old city. tell us what it's like. >>> >> reporter: we're along market street on third and fourth. the road is clear and no cars parked. that's because market street is one of the many snow rge routes in the city. tomorrow like this the city says anybody parked on snow emergency route roads like market street, broad street, the boulevard, chestn chestnut. walnut. you got to get off. parked here overnight, they've towed your car. moved it. need to find where it is call. we heard meteorologist krystal klei say we're seeing that changeover. in fact maybe around 1:00, 2:00 this morning up until about 3:00, the snow is coming down at a steady clip. now looking at roads you see it looks more like slush. we're getting freezing rain that's been pelting windshield here for the past hour or so. the rodriguez looking a lot slushier a as opposed to snow cover covered. we're going to keep driving throughout the area. checking on the roads. checking on conditions and keep you posted throughout the hour. in fa

. >> nbc 10 rosemary conners checking outs road conditions for us. joins us live in storm force 10 in university city. how's it there? >> reporter: we're on 34th street. just left market street heading towards chestnut, and, of course, towards walnut street. see roads are snow covered here. good news for folks in university city, penn, drexel. university all closed for today. not only students stay home, but any staff coming into the city, they'll also stay home as well. i just checked in with the folks at philadelphia's emergency operation center. they tell me so far, normal call volume coming in to 911. for the most part appears as though people are heeding the warning to stay inside this morning. a lot of people obviously staying home from work. we're going to continue to check the roads out here in storm force 10 and see you shortly throughout the news cast. vai and tracey, back to you. >> give you a live look right now at camden. >> hard to see. >> state of emergency issued for the state of new jersey. so keep and be aware of that situation. roa

nbc 10 rosemary conners monitoring conditions in center city. joins us live. where are you right now and what are the conditions like. >> reporter: we're on 34th street. we're actually running parallel to philadelphia zoo. heading into west philadelphia. we wanted to come out and show you these are the snow covered roads we're talking about. obviously on 76 vine street expressway you're starting to see black top. asphalt. the plow truck has been out. salting crews have been out overnight as well. these are some of the roads that still need a little bit of treating and attention into the early morning hours. the snow has stopped falling. it's been that way for at least two and a half hours now. we are having that freezing rain and sleet come down, and, in fact, moment ago, we pulled over and got out and really it is that crust that's starting to form. hard layer on top of snow starting to form over because of tv ice. make things difficult today once crews and people head out to do shovels. keep you posted throughout the rest of the newscast. back to you in the

. >> nbc 10 rosemary conner checking on conditions in storm 4 10. >> reporter: so vai and tracey, live in northern liberty. on fifth street right now. stopped here. the road doesn't look too bad. certainly a plow truck came through in the overnight hours. if we take a right here, yeah this is going to be tight for any crew to get through. a lot of these side streets in northern liberty, queen village can be tricky and treacherous when you have snow coming down. it is difficult to get crews and salting equipment through these roads. the freezing rain has been coming down since 3:00 this morning. it's going to be difficult for anybody heading out today. obviously trying to shovel or get cars out. ice is going to be coated over the snow. we should let people know live in philadelphia. they have to shovel it will walkways within six hours after the storm ends so keep that in mind. trash and recycling suspended today. if you are parked on one of the emergency routes then you may be towed. you see the tow truck right in front of us. obviously the side streets not affected, but the major road
