let's begin with nbc 10 news's rosemary connors live in ep park. you sat in court as all of this unfolded. walk us through what happened. >> reporter: we were the first ones here at court this morning. bill cosby arrived here with his attorneys at his side. they were holding on to his arms, gripping his arms, cosby himself carried a cane. we made sure to get a seat in the courtroom because cameras were not allowed. we were able to capture moments as he got out of the black suv. he stumbled a bit getting up to the sidewalk. as he incurred the courtroom, i heard him say steps he was repeating what attorneys were telling him, he was approaching steps, they wanted him to be careful. they guided him to his seat. at that point the judge came into the courtroom to set bail and give conditions that we mentioned. when she asked bill cosby if he understood his rights, rights to preliminary hearing, charges and terms of the bail, he replied yes. at the end of the brief arraignment the judge said to bill cosby, good luck to you, sir, to which he replied, thank

nbc 10's rosemary connors talked to police today about a connection. rosemary, you saw video of one of those incidents. what did you see? >> reporter: i did, jim. a local restaurant owner showed me surveillance video which he has passed along to police. here's what i saw, a man dressed for work was walking along the sidewalk here on 21st street when he passed the alleged attacker. the attacker made some kind of a remark to the man, possibly yelling an obscenity, then the victim kept walking, but that's when the attacker decided to go after him, slashing his face. as you mentioned, this was the second report of a slashing in center city just this morning. >> seems like they could be the same suspect involved in both situations based on description of the individual. >> reporter: the attacker slashed his first victim here at 23rd and walnut streets around 5:30 this morning. police sources tell us the victim was jogging and after the encounter suffered wounds to his torso and hands but was stable when he went to the hospital. robbery does not appear to be
