let's bring in meteorologist rosemary oroczo. she's tracking the latest on the system. ry. >> yes. wet and windy. about sums it up, andre. a live look here over the golden gate bridge. you can see the flag there blowing in the wind. you can see the roadways are slick. and as andre mentioned, we do expect it to pick up more. so as we get into the afternoon and early evening commute. let's take a look at some of these rainfall amounts. i want to show you this graphic. the last time around, but marin has reported four inches almost a quarter. richmond reporting two inches kentfield, also in the north bay. more than four and a half. ben lowman in the santa cruz mountains. more than two and a half. san francisco more than two and a quarter. you get over towards livermore and san jose. it will continue to accumulate, but obviously not as much as we have seen in this area. and as i showed you in the last half hour, multiple we're talking several dozens of storm reports out there due to wind and flooding and minor slides as we move into the north bay. it is widespread once again

let's turn things over now to meteorologist rosemary oroczo. she's tracking the latest on the weather conditions. beautiful day outside, rosemary. >> yes, indeed. look at that, andre. mother nature showing us love on this valentine's day with some blue sky there. and the puffy clouds. we will get a bit a bit breezy out there. here's another gorgeous view of the rolling green hills, mount diablo, and we've got some cloud cover here as well, mixed in with pretty blue sky. we do have a flood warning that will continue until this afternoon. it expires at 6 p.m. for this area of sonoma county, stretching from windsor over towards rohnert park and graton along highway 101, and off toward the east just a little bit. as andre mentioned, that high surf warning goes until 3 a.m. tomorrow morning. it does include the entire coastline. something to be aware of if you are planning on heading over towards the coast. a few scattered showers over the higher elevations of the santa clara hills in the diablo range, and perhaps a few sprinkles along the coast as w

let's check in with meteorologist rosemary oroczo. she's in the weather center with much more. >> rosemary andre garcia, hello to you. happy monday, everyone. giving you a look here at the beautiful clouds over the bay area at this time. mainly dry. it is the calm before the next storm. here's a look at storm tracker two. we've got a little bit of moisture embedded within those clouds, but for the most part we have been dry for the last few hours or so. the next system tilts still to our north, beginning to see some moisture pop in over areas of lake county. it will move into the north bay before it moves into the central and south bay later today. flood watch begins at 4:00 this afternoon and will go until wednesday morning, as we are expecting anywhere from 2 to 4 or even five inches of rainfall by wednesday. then we'll get a break before the next system rolls in on thursday. the sierra, also with an advisory that begins at 1:00 this afternoon and will go until 10 a.m. on wednesday. first storm over the weekend had very high snow lev

and with that, let's get right to our weather with meteorologist rosemary oroczo and rosemary. how long do we expect this wet weather to last? >> gianna. it's going to last at least through tomorrow night. and then we have another on its heels coming in on thursday. so a total of three if you include the one this past weekend. a look outside our doors where the rain has been falling over the north bay since earlier today. now moving into san francisco. and this wet weather brings with it the wind as well. as janet mentioned a moment ago, we do have a wind advisory for the coast and the coastal ranges, and it does include san francisco, with winds expected to reach 40 to 50mph over the course of the next 24 hours or so. meanwhile, this next system expected to bring in a 1 to 4in of rainfall, maybe even isolated areas, 4 to 6 in some of our hills. and the sierra is going to get several feet of snow this week, with this system being a colder one, the one behind it, or the one coming in on thursday friday even colder. let's take a look at what's happening there. storm tracker two.

now for a look at our weather and let's welcome to the show tonight, meteorologist rosemary oroczo. >> heather, we have changes coming. bring the umbrella out tomorrow, folks. we've got rain back in the forecast. it's going to be brief. many areas may remain dry. it's a very weak system. and i'll show you here what i mean. momentarily giving you a live look there over san francisco, where the high clouds continued overhead. today, temperatures came up. it was relatively nice out there, even a few degrees above average for this time of year. temperatures now in the 50s. as we get into the overnight hours, they will cool. but again, we are looking at the cloud cover and the humidity to help us out. meanwhile, afternoon highs from today 67, in san rafael, 64 on the peninsula in redwood city. a view here of storm tracker two. there's all that cloud cover. you even notice a little bit of green on the screen in areas right off the coastline near ukiah. as i pull back a little bit more, the pacific northwest, washington, oregon and northern california will begin to get the wet weather first.

let's bring in our meteorologist rosemary oroczo with a look now at those conditions and just how long it is going to last. >> yes, a few more hours. we will have those continue to subside. and the advisory will expire at 3 a.m. as anne was mentioning a moment ago. and just a pretty one out there, at least from our vantage point. here's a view from ktvu across the oakland estuary towards san francisco. a lot of blue sky out there. a big change from what we had just 24 hours ago. the advisory for the entire coastline, as alex mentioned, not just santa cruz and not just areas over pacifica, but from north north bay all the way down into monterey, improving conditions expected for tomorrow. we will be partly cloudy and dry for the start of the weekend. things start to change a little bit on the back end, and we still have one flood warning in parts of sonoma county until 6 p.m. for stretches along highway 101, highway 12, highway 116 between windsor, over towards the santa rosa, rohnert park and sebastopol, where we have low lying areas in those flood prone areas. still reporting some flo

we woke up to this morning rosemary oroczo she's in for steve this morning with a look at the forecast for this monday and the changes in store for later this week. rosemary. >> yes guys, it was a chilly one this morning. frost advisories and freeze warnings. they allowed to expire, but they are likely to be back tomorrow morning before we transition to a wetter pattern by tomorrow night. a beautiful view here over alcatraz. it's a pretty one. the mostly sunny skies will remain in place. high clouds of pushing over the bay area at times today, tomorrow, but an increase in clouds as we get into the second part of your afternoon on tuesday. 41 degrees right now in walnut creek, 39. novato 42, san francisco. the chill is still on, but dramatically better than what we had earlier this morning when we were in the upper 20s, low 30s, still trailing behind in some areas, like fairfax reporting 32 degrees, and for the inner east bay just above freezing in orinda at 34 for the afternoon today, temperatures are going to be just a smidge below average. but with all that sunshine out there, it sho

meteorologist rosemary oroczo watching this and we've talked about what a dry january it was. are on february 1st and february is coming in saying things are going to be a little different now. >> oh for sure. i think a week from now we are going to be speaking a completely different life and singing a different tune. right now we just have rain and we have been dry for weeks and it is easy for our our moisture. of course, i should say our soils to absorb the moisture, but this is one of three storms. we have another one coming in monday. tuesday, we have another one coming in late in the week. and those are also colder storms. so let's enjoy what we have at this moment, giving you a live look here at the soggy one over the bay area. some of the rainfall totals from the last 24 hours or so. areas like concord, livermore, inner east bay, less than a 10th of an inch. then you get over towards oakland, san francisco 3/10 of an inch or so. then you get into the north bay half inch to an inch reported. and that is where we're going to see most of the rain once again for today. and
