this is good news over rosemund. but the clouds are already on increase. the flood watches are still in place for much of western north carolina. all of the upstate, all of north georgia, stretching towards charlotte. two to three inches of rainfall. that's not everywhere. believe you me. skies mostly clear now. but the moisture is going to come from this direction and it's going to overrun a couple of frontal boundaries vpt that just gives us the better threat for more rain. it will become more wide spread high temperatures, though, made it to record territory in greer. 72 today. lots of 70s across the mountains. still got that southerly flow. i'll show you when to expect the rain and where. coming up. >> frank: flood waters forced evacuations in several areas across the mountains. >> anchor: in jackson county, people in six trailers got an early morning wake-up call to get out of their homes. >> frank: news 13's john ostendorf is live in sylva. >> anchor: john, what did those flood victims tell you? >> john: hope, it was a harowing night. >> they telling

if you're around the rosemund area and farther northeast of there, that's where we're finding flooding still over the french broad and its banks. this is going to be the trend for the rest of the evening in the upstate. the threat for flooding pretty much over now. the flash flood warnings will expire shortly if they haven't already. future radar, you can see a few showers possible the next couple of hours. really the idea is it's going to be cloudy and it's going to get cooler. 61 degrees right now in asheville. we've held that temperature for several hours now. north wind at 8. that's the big difference. a north wind indicates cooler and dry air. where's the cold air? look to the north. look at this. cold northerly winds blowing across the upper midwest. teens as you get toward minneapolis. areas in detroit, it's near cold front will make its way through. when it does, it's going to be a noticeable change for us coming in the new year. the front moves east, the rain goes with it. even though we may hang on to showers. we get cold and certainly breezy tomorrow. and even colder still i
