rosendale: i think that would be a huge mistake. one of the problems we saw over the last 15, 18 years was the consolidation of power within the speaker's office and within what they call the rules committee. so many of us members fought very, very hard back in january in order to restore the rules, it was a change of the rules but it was a restoration of rules so that we have a regular order in congress again. so each member is empowered. we don't have a super legislative status that's been granted to anyone that gives them higher privileges and control than any other member. and i think it would be a huge mistake right now to try and grant additional powers to the speaker pro tem. host: is that the general consensus of the freedom caucus snoaferl is it your perspective? how much is it shared there? mr. rosendale: i think it goes beyond the freedom caucus. i haven't had an opportunity to speak to many members this morning but most members of the congress don't want to see the reconsolidation of pow entire anyone's hands. that's dan

jason, a statement from matt rosendale of montana, he's going to vote to vacate the speaker, and says kevin mccarthy violated his promises to the american people and the conference, by working against them and voting to aid the left. these few people bringing this motion to the floor do have fair grievances with the speaker. they do feel like he hasn't been playing ball with them and fulfilling the promises that he made. so, is there any way out of this cul-de-sac as chad pergram likes to say to where the speaker could reach out to the folks now in the final moments as he did in january and say look, i am going to get these things done, give me some more time. would that work for them? >> i think the trust is far gone out the door. i think one of the key votes i would look for going up on the board early on is andy biggs. andy biggs, not only has i think a reasonable mind, i think he can step back from this. he will also be very influential on others. as goes biggs, i think a number of them will also go. i really do. and for, you know, matt rosendale has to look people in the mirror a

i actually just caught up with congressman matt rosendale of montana, another member back in januaryonsistently voting against the man who wanted to at that point be speaker, kevin mccarthy. now he's confirming to me in this motion to vacate, he will also vote yes, which is to say he will vote to oust speaker mccarthy. that makes six. the larger the number climbs, the harder it is and the higher the threshold for mccarthy to offset with democrats. and i think, again, we get into that scenario, it is important to circle back to what we know in our reporting, which is that i have not spoken to any democratic member who says that they want to be the one or ones to save mccarthy's job. they are unified in the minority, they say this is a majority problem, let republicans sort it out themselves, but now we're seeing the nonmccarthy side grow, by one, at least for now, and we'll see what else changes on the floor. >> matt rosendale on twitter or sorry, on x, talking about that. and also, carlos, at the trial of donald trump, at his civil trial, he was shouted questions about his reaction t
