today's event at the rosie the riveter world war ii home front national historical park was at a locationcial significance in remembrance of the workers. the women workers in world war two who stepped up when a lot of the men were at war, and assisting with the war effort. and so, a lot of what they did was dangerous. more events are planned for tomorrow, for workers memorial day, along with reaffirming a commitment to safety. christy smith, nbc, bay area news. a celebration of a pandemic policy just too popular to scrap today marks four years since jfk drive turned into a car free promenade right there in golden gate park. the one and a half mile stretch of road was reserved for pedestrians and bikes during the pandemic. the goal was to give people a safe place to gather outdoors. in 2022, the city decided not to reopen the road to cars, and voters later made the change permanent. we knew that prior to the pandemic, three out of every four vehicles that used to travel down this road didn't start their trip in a park, and they didn't end it in a park, which meant that they were using this
