now much quieter outside of the studio when rosslyn and most of the area. today was hot and steamy. 95 at reagan national, 91 at washington dulles, 93 at bwi. five of the six days in september we have been at 90 degrees or above, but that streak is over. now in the 70's, falling at the 60's. improving conditions as we continue through the remainder of the overnight. most of the showers now across the chesapeake bay, much quieter up and down the east coast. numerous severe thunderstorm warnings, especially over new england. cooler and less humid air behind this. the dew point temperature the upper 40's, lower 50's over the great lakes. that air mass moves in tomorrow, noticeably more comfortable. will stallont offshore. tomorrow, probably sunny, 80 degrees. i think the low pressure will develop along the front over the carolinas. they will hug the coast earlier the way, bringing us the northeast wind, keep temperatures down and a chance of showers, especially along south and eastern portions of the region. just keep that in mind. the temperatures will be muc

live from our rooftop in in rosslyn, 74 was the afternoon high. the morning low was 65 degrees, and no rain at all in washington. and a little bit of rain, like leonardtown. in maryland, not far away. potomac is about the same. that is like a few drops more than a trace. and i think as we go through the evening, that pattern is going to stay well established. the lower eastern shore, a couple of showers showing up in martinsburg, and a pattern. the majority of the rain will move to the south and east for the metro region, and we back that up based on the movement across north carolina, taking the same track to the northeast, so we may get an isolated sprinkle, but most of it will stay to the south and east. toward sunrise, we will get just a touch of clearing. images now 68 in gaithersburg, andight now in annapolis, temperatures are somewhat warmer to the west of our area. drier air build in the atmosphere. this is demonstrated nicely. dry air, moving in. so tomorrow, some cloudiness. and then the skies change considerably. through,ont will come a
