roz plater has the details of what they are contemplating. roz? >> reporter: indeed, we just got a briefing here in the last hour or so. and the county tells us it is working along with federal and state officials to make sure they can manage what they expect to be a surge in these cases. part of that is possibly turning the santa clara convention center into a temporary hospital. we first told you than last night. now the plan there is that it would be able to take care of up to 250 patients who are not critically ill and who do not have covid-19. now we learned today that this will be staffed by a federal unit, like a m.a.s.h. unit, with its own equipment and supplies, some that began arriving yesterday. the idea they say is to take the pressure off local hospitals. >> so the way that we are looking at this is it's going to be coordinated through county's eoc. and what that means is it's going to allow us to take patients that are not infectious or not trauma patients and move them off site so that they can be cared for fully as a mini hospital
