hey, rudi, i'm going to start with you. when you see that video, what is it like for you as an iranian-american watching that video coming in from home? >> it's breaking my heart. every day, in fact, since june we have been watching videos of our family members and friends out in the streets of tehran being brutalized by this government. literally since last sunday dozens have been killed. over 1,500 arrested and serving jail time now in iran's prisons. and what is important to note is that everything that we are watching right now, running over protesters by iranian security forces, the beating up indiscriminately of protesters, shooting on protesters and murdering protesters, this is all being done with the hedna of the supreme leader of iran, ayatollah khameini. and -- go ahead. >> i want to get bobak in here. i can only imagine what your listeners are saying. many of them i would imagine are iranian-americans. what type of responses are you getting from people, and what are you hearing about the horror stories back home

host: last fall you talked about a primary in new york and match up with rudy guiliani.what's happening in that raise in new york? guest: well looks like senator is in good shape to me. the democrats problem is on the govern nor ship there's a lot of turmoil there. will governor patterson seek re-election. the two senate seats run but we don't see these as high priorities for the republicans. they have lots of opportunities and new york is still a difficult state. there's democrats who are not wildly enthused about senator jillbran but we have all the names of the people that will primary her and there's some that bagged off. this is not a huge democratic vulnerability. host: who do you think the republican nominee will be. guest: boxer is not strong. her numbers are not. got four or five million in the bank which in most states is not a lot of money but in california is not so much money. i think carly will be the republican nominee. there's three or two other republicans at least one other in the raise. two others looking at it. but i um... i think this is more about b

this morning from our new york city mayor, rudy giuliani criticized the white house for two things.one was the closure of gitmo and the decision to put this detained terrorist in the criminal justice system. is that fair criticism? is that partisanship or grant citizenship to? >> i would say if one looks at what mayor giuliani says after testifying in the criminal u.s. criminal trial of zachariah miceli, calling it, i forget the fact phrase, but holding up the stellar record and the value system involved in our criminal justice system, i don't think that mr. giuliani has the record straight in his comments as it relates to that anyway. i think if you watch the interview, i think there were a number of things that didn't quite seem to jive with the better part of reality. >> does that include the terrorist attacked aggressively? >> and sort of interesting that the mayor of new york had forgotten that. >> the second question is you have no nominated dawn johnson, sec whether we had nominated crockett smarter. >> was the? >> that's right. >> i think i was pretty young. >> and i'm down
