i'll tell you that is awesome but is a little bit difficult when you're eating. dust here. it was time to take things a little easier and i went off to find a man with a rather more sedate hobby. looks like these guys over here have gone in for some double glazing in one of the old buildings but i know someone is going to be able to make good use of it. but the muses reclaimed pieces to repair and refurbish musical instruments and we were going to give an old good song a new lease of life. and my siberian stone pine window sill was going to become a brand new sounding. fit together of soap but it's not just land mammals that are getting a helping hands here. around fifteen years ago there were hundreds of tons of sturgeon and kalugin in the animal river but the fish is now critically endangered they can be or is a valuable delicacy and poaching and overfishing have seen their numbers decline to such an extent that only two i don't specimens were documented to have been cool in this area in two thousand and nine is a situation of the dilemma as the fish farm is trying to change the team in his work as a breeding young imo sturgeon and kaluga are in captivity and then returning them to the walls so this is where they keep the food for the fish it looks like particularly lovely stuff. combination all insects alone the way. it would flow in the and some tiny stations are really very delicious were young so that it. doesn't go over. the fish in these tanks are only a few bones old but a full grown kaluga can live as long as a human so it's. very easy facing boy about two thousand of these babies been in here you can see the pretty lively. now there anyway about thirty to forty grams of plants the perfect sowing is to give them the real schulze of survival in the rhythm of the organ probably safely say that this may be the only thought in my life i'm ever going to see a fish back you see that this is what is transposing our kaluga at all stages into the fact that we can then release it into the river later. it's like a quick death it leaves a means we've reached our quota it's time to drive i'm still. so i'm writing style here because we're just about to head off to the river and hopefully give the space a new lease of life releasing hundreds of leaves of water at once can be a bit tricky though and we have to do a little with the side rescue work. so this is the so slow i have to think of baby's first very soon we'll be taking them out on to the boat. then i will find the right spot in the river so they can be given. the phones only been operating since two thousand and eight but they plan to breed up to three million fish a year which should give the kaluga and the animal sturgeon a good chance of swimming in these waters in the decades to come. it's amazing to think that just a few years this little guy could be a few metres wide and a few hundred kilos in weight and hopefully we've given him the best chance of making it because of the size hopefully he'll survive for amazing good luck. he really did feel that we were helping to regenerate a river that's been supporting the people of this region since time immemorial. before i left a bar of school i was going to meet some people whose ancestors had lived this way for millennia. but. syria has been the home to the indigenous nano which in their language means people recovering has been next to impossible and some of resorted to something the only thing they have left body parts as this report. a room again is alone in her tiny empty apartment in china like many indians who struggle to make ends meet kala is constantly in debt despite selling pretty much everything she has including her own kidney i live in i'm up an older brother when i went to a broker he told me that i could sell my kidney i agreed because i was in a bad situation and my children were small we did not even have any food to eat. when the two thousand and four tsunami hit the coast of south asia kahlo was one of hundreds of thousands of people who lost everything in order to get back on her feet she got alone that she was the leader unable to repay. and he had a lot of debt i had to borrow money to buy the fishing boat people i had borrowed money from started asking me for money they said they will come home and there's us if we didn't we pay the money just for it and vulnerable tsunami survivors soon became the perfect targets for the illegal organ trade in india it's become known as the market. every year one hundred thousand indians need organ replacements a demand that drives an illegal supply with some organs even being sold to a small percentage of desperate transplant tourists in one thousand nine hundred four the indian government half the law meant to regulate organ donation in this country a trust that it was supposed to get an organ from a donor who was in some way known said even though each transplant was supposed to be approved by committee of doctors it's almost impossible for anyone to stop money transactions from happening under the table in general when a recipient finds out that he or she needs an organ donor they normally approach friends or family for a match when those options are exhausted rogue doctors or hospital staff can introduce the recipient to a broker usually a former illegal donor too who can scout nearby poor neighborhoods for someone who is willing to sell their kidney and go under the knife. for the roots of this. before. the transplants from the donor to the recipient take place in the hospital simultaneously the donor ends up making a little over a thousand dollars well the brokers can profit almost double that. i went to the broker he said he will give me fifty thousand rupees for my kidney it was supposed to be much more but the broker cheated us the joiners also frequently are robbed of their health before i used to run around and work a lot but now i can't do as much work as they used to i find it difficult even to lift a part of what i can go to work i have severe pain in my abdomen and my chest i don't like and while horror stories of the red market are exchanged among push to keep this agenda alive and so the intake castro lobby was born they give a lot of money you know u.s. elections are in fact privately financed so they've been able to figure out how to play the games even though they're a small percentage of the population they play very big in a key swing state polls consistently show that two thirds of americans favor ending the embargo and normalizing relations with cuba and some in congress agree so by the time we talk to cuba and still stop fighting these wars about thirty or forty years old empire castro groups have given more than one point seven million dollars in donations to credible candidates from two thousand and four to two thousand and ten more than half a million dollars in two thousand and ten alone to both republicans and democrats ensuring us killer policy remains virtually unchanged. but it will enhance the effectiveness of the embargo the united states will keep the embargo. fewer than one percent of americans are of cuban origin and their journey emigrated before the end of the cold war and like the rest of the spanish population in the u.s. fifty eight percent of cubans are u.s. citizens cubans who arrive and step foot beaches in south florida are on their way to citizenship haitians who arrive and set foot on the beaches of miami are on their way to a detention center in deportation cubit americans are also a force to be reckoned with in congress we don't we are the most over represented community in congress with two senators and four representatives we say so. that's an enemy we're including the have powerful political action committees behind them like the us cuba democracy pac the number one campaign donor in two thousand and six with more than five hundred thousand dollars our community is almost half of them children washington claims there have been no civilian deaths at all well to assess these contradictions i'm now joined by chris woods he's a senior reporter with the bureau thanks very much indeed christian for joining us so some grim statistics there tell us more on what your investigations uncovered there in pakistan. where we've been looking at the subject for about a year now and we've uncovered clear evidence of between two thousand three hundred and two thousand eight hundred civilians and people killed in pakistan of those a minimum of three hundred eighty five civilians we think and as many as seven hundred seventy five civilians among those killed just to be clear the cia has now admitted that they have killed around fifty civilians in pakistan during the duration of the certainly years of the drone war but they say they haven't killed a civilian since my last year and our evidence suggests entirely the contrary where were you getting your evidence from what were your sources. well initially we were we went back and looked at over two thousand individual media reports from pakistani u.s. u.k. international media looking at the strikes and then once we don't actually untangled that process and got the clearest idea of what had taken place we don't cross-reference with a host of material which included. legal studies case notes of lawyers who are fighting cases on behalf of civilians in pakistan intelligence documents us secret cables that were leaked by wiki leaks of this year and so on so we're trying to build up really as comprehensive a public view as we could of what's actually been taking place with the cia attacks but although you say the cia do admit to civilian deaths nevertheless they did indeed try to thwart your investigation efforts some of them are right in saying that. they were quite aggressive towards those over the last few days certainly we were hearing rumors of u.s. officials in washington trying to cast aspersions on our study before it was even published and for example trying to link us to someone they were climbing with a spy in pakistan and also raising dance about the validity of our research itself and we were leaked documents by other journalists. from the cia which were raising serious doubts on their side about our work we have absolutely no trouble with what we've put forward and we're very robustly defending it against these attacks train attacks are meant to be extremely precise and why mistakes made. i mean the u.s. has described the drones as the most precise weapon in the history of warfare but you're still talking about missiles fired from a great distance away into housing compounds at vehicles where other people are going to be in the vicinity and history of the drone strikes as we've seen it reveals many many strikes in which civilians have been killed one hundred forty over reported two hundred ninety two strikes have recorded civilian deaths attached to them. just briefly finally all that any signs that the obama administration is learning lessons from this in trying to avoid such tragedies in the future. there are some indications that civilian deaths have been dropping since two thousand and ten. on the question of child tests they've gone from being a large numbers of children killed in strikes to individual children really killed by flying shrapnel as far as we can see in the vicinity but we have to temper that slightly there was a huge escalation in the number of strikes last year and reporting suffered accordingly it's very difficult to report from is there a stand so while it's indicative that the civilian deaths declined. chris woods very interesting to hear what you have to say thanks so much for joining us live here senior reporter with the bureau of investigative journalism joining us live there in london thanks your time. the two thousand and four tsunami in south asia took everything from many of the victims that lived along the coast of india recovering has been next to impossible and some have resorted to selling the only thing they have left their own body parts. cala a room again is alone in her tiny empty apartment in china i like many indians who struggle to make ends meet kala is constantly in debt despite selling pretty much everything she has including her own kidney and i'm not. going to group her he told me that i could sell my kidney i agreed because i was in a bad situation and my children were small we did not even have any food to eat when the two thousand and four tsunami hit the coast of south asia kala was one of hundreds of thousands of people who lost everything in order to get back on her feet she got a loan that she was later unable to repay. we had a lot of debt i had to borrow money to buy the fishing boat the people i borrowed money from started asking me for money they said they will come home and embarrass us if we didn't pay the money desperate and vulnerable tsunami survivors soon became the perfect targets for the illegal organ trade in india it's become known as the red market every year one hundred thousand indians need organ replacements a demand that drives an illegal supply with some organs even being sold to a small percentage of desperate transplant tourists in one thousand nine hundred four the indian government hatched a law meant to regulate organ donation in this country each recipient was supposed to get an organ from a donor who was in some way known to have even though each transplant was supposed to be approached by a committee of doctors it's almost impossible for anyone to stop money transactions from happening under the table in general when a recipient finds out that he or she needs an organ donor they normally approach friends or family for a match when those options are exhausted rogue doctors or hospital staff can introduce the recipient to a broker usually a former illegal donor too who can scout nearby poorer neighborhoods for someone who is well. to sell their kidney and go under the knife. by good news for the most part of it so this. is the law. doctors are also on a blind eye to this happening to transplants from the donor to the recipient take place in the hospital simultaneously the donor ends up making a little over a thousand dollars while the brokers can profit almost double that. i went to the broker he said he will give me fifty thousand rupees for my kidney it was supposed to be much more but the broker cheated us donors also frequently are robbed of their health before i used to run them around and work a lot but now i can do as much work as they used to i find it difficult even to leave that part of what i can go to work i have severe pain in my abdomen and my chest. and while horror stories of the rad market are exchanged among locals those with no options left are forced to take extreme measures sacrificing their health just to stay alive preassure either party russia russia technology and french aerospace companies up front see the deal work on the state of the art navigation system join you for a full business full of an impression that. has just suffered five pm here in the russian capital and you're watching our t.v. now britain has sentenced to young men to four years behind bars after their facebook posts which they said were a joke called others to cause trouble in their hometown well now human rights groups are sounding the alarm saying the courts are overreacting by dishing out penalties which are far too harsh a bet reports it's part of the political drive for tough justice in the wake of the looting and disorder across england. four years behind bars for the riot that didn't even happen jordan black sure and perry sutcliffe kenan were banged up for inciting disorder on facebook and no one turned up after their invitation to riot which they later said was a drunken joke but now they face sentences even tougher than most looters and i worry is that it is an imbalance a four year sentence for example would normally be given to somebody for a previous bodily harm for holding someone up with a knife or even for. some form of sexual assault so it seems to me that. there is a danger that the courts are moving into disproportionate territory not actually the values are more serious crimes the government's encouraged cause to dish out harsh sentences by using the public disturbance as an aggravating factor it's meant this man anderson fernandez could even be sent to jail for theft of just two scoops of ice cream because like this one denying bail to most offenders and ignoring any claims of previous good character of the one thousand two hundred seventy seven people charge so far two thirds have been reminded in custody that's way up on last year's rate for serious crimes this is just ten percent some offenders even being made homeless is their punishment with local governments taking away their houses but many say it's all simply cause more harm than good i think this is very unwise the move to remove people from housing internet benefits because actually if we are saying that some of the crime that we saw on the streets was an expression of people not feeling puerto society not feeling proud of our communities in these measures are actually going to push people further away from society further away from our communities and far more likely to commit crime for facebook case is the first sign of the government's desire to crack down on social media sites like twitter were applauded by the west mobilizing the masses in the arab world but they were also instrumental in the u.k. riots so now the prime minister wants it to stop. we are working with the police the intelligence services and industry to look at whether it would be right to stop people communicating via these websites or services when we know they are plotting violence disorder and criminality when social media fueled revolutions in egypt and she musea britain called it to mark crissy but now the shoe's on the other foot when troubles closer to home i'm very current. we knew. who. we thought. was. the prime minister says this is where britain fights back but it spears this fighting fire with fire could only fan the flames of civil disorder are definit are under. the british prime minister david cameron has defended the seven sings say they are sending a tough message but investigative journalist tony gosling believes the authorities must not forget their our past for condemning others. i think it's a bit rich coming from david cameron who and the government i mean who are many of whom are we talking about george osborne boris johnson baby cameron who were members of this elite oxford bullingdon club and i'll quote now one of the things they said back in ninety six was that they smashed the place up and boris set fire to the toilets i think they should take a close look at themselves and their club they used to be part of a not for the drinking club where they would smash the places up one occasion apparently two bottles of wine were smashed each by these people in a park they looked like vandals to me so they shouldn't really go lecturing the rest of us last thing we need is a knee jerk reaction against our ability to communicate it's quite clear we have to separate the difference between ordinary communications and those kinds of communications which involve incitement to riot into other kinds of criminal behavior well one of the ironies of this is as you try and restrict these internet sites what happens is that actually if you if you for example as you pictures did when they closed down the internet in certain places during the tahrir square the uprising earlier this year is that people actually come out in the streets when they have a chance anyway and i think this is being used actually as an excuse to regulate more more government interference in the way we communicate which i think would be a terrible thing. and the un's human rights chief is preparing to call for the international criminal court to investigate seriously done protesters well the u.n. says it's found a pattern of systematic attacks against civilians and has compiled a wrist of fifty alleged perpetrators inside the government of president assad the military operation has now start but starting as many are financial has been finding out the presence of government troops is not always seen as a bad sign. the city of there is sort of maybe liberated but in the last few days it suffered a brutal occupation i mean my family's eyes bandits blocked the raids put up barricades it became a case city were hiding just like hostages for more than a week reclaim the army fought against armed groups that had taken control of the city and had been terrorizing its residents. soldiers of the syrian army i live in the city of the iraqi border. officials are saying operation is now over that the city has been freed from armed groups as you can see people are welcome in the soldiers as the way there is but in other parts of the country the troops little assad's vicious crackdown are far less welcome in a similar offensive against so-called terrorists in the coastal city of latakia the opposition claims government troops killed almost fall to civilians while human rights groups report the number of deaths in the country could be almost as high as two thousand some say assad is simply using his army to silence peaceful demonstrators across the country over than. the syrian army hasn't met any resistance in the cities across the country were. maybe there was some so-called bandits among protestors and maybe they use the momentum to spread carrots but if so where have they been when the army here. armed groups is just a theory invented by the state they have an excuse in the cities. in new liberated there is or life seems question back to normal the markets reopened and roads just days ago were empty are again filled with cars but reminders of the recent struggles arms too hard to find and the most obvious one is fear. syria. a globalization analyst michel chossudovsky says the fire power some of the protesters have obtained raises questions about their motives and about where the weapons have come from i've been following this day by day since it started in march in in daraa in the southern city of daraa and what we have here is islamists and salafi as well as muslim brotherhood go. shooting at civilians as well as should be good police and israeli sources actually confirming that these militia and i quote. armed with heavy machine guns they say they won't say that this is not a protest movement because that seems to be the the media consensus but then they say the protesters are with heavy machine guns and. now since way not peaceful civilian protesters armed with heavy machine guns so the question we have to ask ourselves who is the source of this killing one of the one of the underlying causes of this hope it of this insurrection. israel has suffered a number of consecutive shootouts sort of left five dead and dozens injured when the attacks took place near its southern border with egypt with a gunman opening fire on a possum for abbas a private car and israeli troops marquees correspondent paula sneer isn't tell of the of with more. and israeli bass was fired on by gunmen using a k forty seven in a separate incident and israeli patrol vehicle drove over a roadside bomb and in a weird incident a private vehicle was fired at by an r.p.g. now we are hearing reports of a fourth incident but this is not clear at this stage as you can well imagine the reports sometimes come pick each other this does seem to have been some kind of shootout between the israeli army and militants but at this stage with because we are receiving our people dead and twenty six people injured now this happened in southern israel not thoughtful new direction border we're hearing from the israeli prime minister's office that at least three of the gunman has been killed israeli army is on high alert and they say that this is an it is an orchestrated of course to create an operation the fire is ongoing while the israeli defense minister in iraq says there's no doubt that the fire came from gaza which is which is why some people get on are fearing that there could be another israeli gaza war operation at the same time it only adds to the fear that's already being expressed for several months now that the situation in the sinai peninsula is chaotic and it's sort of an alkie which is the way that some israeli experts have described the situation there just last week egypt and thousands of troops to the sinai peninsula to try and the militants the second time that they have done this ever since the egyptian president hosni mubarak felt and this is an operation that is being supported by israel which is increasingly talking not about wiccans being smuggled into gaza that a lot israeli officials call a lot shipments of organized military operations has shades of equipment that are making their way into gaza and also question is being asked why i was on the base of them paid for this but you need to remember that israeli egyptian border is a long border it is not as we quickly patrolled as other borders in this country because of the israeli egyptian peace treaty and as i mentioned earlier the fact that some people say that this was so well orchestrated and so sophisticated is leading here is leading so. i'm here to say that there is some kind of poem in both and i'm kind of going it in what we witnessed today. and still ahead for you this hour thanks but no thanks would you assume you can please turn their backs on the single currency doesn't just encourage will fight for survival. or turning to the skies now which are particularly noisy this thursday in the moscow region of the max international air show is hosting all sorts of i've never seen them and they're flying machines and all the cobra is there for us to bring us up to speed with the latest developments. one of the hard lights of the third day of mac's two thousand and eleven air show is this helicopter the helicopters made its name during the soviet war in afghanistan that am i seventeen that is soon to return to the country in order to help restore security there as nato is going to buy over its range of such helicopters to deploy to afghanistan let's check it out from inside that's pretty say that it's very easy to operate this helicopter especially for our gun violence many of them were educated by a soviet flight instructors. we will be able to check out the inside of the cabin just a moment so as potential buyers are already here to check it out for themselves i would go. well of course this is not the only military aircraft that is the headliner of this year's air show monks key fifty is another one lined together with america's f. twenty two and thirty five fighter jets all the fifth generation fifty has been kept a secret for a very long time it was displayed for the first time on wednesday but no one was able to get close to it as its features i still kept it secret what we do know is that its most prominent feature is going to be that it's. difficulty detected by raiders but of course this airshow is not just about military aircraft we're talking big money a lot of deals to be seals during the next three days including today of course as well we're surrounded by hundreds of warnings an air boss says alongside the ways that we're jet and asked to enter one so we're expecting a billion dollar deals to be sealed within the next couple of days but of course for the general audience the most exciting part of the show is aerobatics russian knights performing for them together with the. pilot sounds of one of our correspondents the partner actually found out what it's like to be one going of those planes during the performance. engine check. instruments check. runway check. and then it's takeoff for the russian aerobatic display team b. as moves then nine first class pilots are performed over two hundred times in the past nineteen years but they all have to start somewhere. and brave the training to join the team he thinks he's nearly good enough but still remembers his first one was so highly. without any warning they told me i was going to do the next flight on my own i had no time to be scared it was no longer an instructor who wanted back it was unforgettable takeoff you're on your own controlling the plane then when you learned you've done it i think you're a real pilot at that point. yes moves are trying to hold the maneuvers they practiced most weekends thinking of new tricks and practicing old ones looking for me but never the work of a book we come up with stone and been researched but it often turns out if you've been gone before mystery of a russian came up with the look i'm told. we understand sir based on the loop the loop is the basis for all aerial acrobatics. however it always comes down to time in the air even with years of flying and training experience between them it never becomes easy with the most smoke when you leave the cockpit or you can squeeze a gallon of swig from your suit your knees are shaking because it's extremely different and stressful and anyone but you'll go through it so with that gut wrenching fear ringing in my ears i was told it was mine to the crowds on the ground this is an exciting spectacle but that's not quite the emotion that's going through my mind at the moment because i'm about to see what happens from inside the cockpit. we did the loop the loop all the planes just meters apart. it. but when it came to the fountain i nearly blacked out. white faced but not the seat as i returned to. k k. k k. k. k. k k. but i could also see some of the strains that go through. there's no ticket but if you know the might be for the crowds serial acrobatics aren't to shoot at the pilots it's always a difficult job that a terrorist a pilot has to show his skill and the beauty of flight so next time you look up at those speeding planes spare a thought for the pilot in some way. from bottom on to. other stay with r.t. throughout the day as we bring you more updates on live coverage of the last two thousand and eleven international air show on the moscow region. hands on. approach. shape the future flights i. largely takes to the max air show. now the czech republic is the latest e.u. country to back away from the struggle euro zone. now would be inappropriate well it's just the latest country to be scared off a debt laden single currency and some even ignoring legal obligations to sign up only three of twelve states that have joined the e.u. since two thousand and four have adopted the euro and it comes after angela merkel and nicolas sarkozy call for ruth of a central economic body which would ensure euro zone members more financial responsibility that's the national expert patrick young says european leaders are quite forgets risking the whole currency. the reason people want to join the single currency in the first place was because of safety the idea that they could trade in a single currency across borders and that that would be a hard truth in currency block what we've seen in the course of the last number of months i mean actually going over a year or more now it has been an increasing number of summers various bailouts every time we end up with this chorus of people telling us that everything's over and we've thought frankly our ground opera of the euro that's turning into a farce everybody outside of the european union elite understands that the euro is under incredible pressure countries like the czech republic thirty four percent get to gayety they've got one of the debt to g.d.p. of greece why on earth do they want to join a club that's already being bankrupted by the least organized and worst members of the organization they're not going to do it they can find easily a way to avoid the e.u. needs to get its act together it needs to cut the cancer and get rid of places like greece and through the might of the euro it needs to create a new unstable system and it needs to adhere to the rules because all of the euro zone members of the century broken the rules in some way shape or form the markets need confidence this is not caused by markets thinking that they want to destroy the euro was a reason for. some form of vandalism tranquilly completely in the hands of people like mr sarkozy mrs merkel. all of those your resume leaders they need to lead they need to demonstrate leadership and they need to demonstrate strength otherwise you're. ok now to some other world news this hour thousands of people have gathered in madrid to notice the pope's visit to spain angry that the cost of the trip to impossible and some of resorted to selling the only thing they have left their body parts as this report. cala a room again is alone in her tiny empty apartment in chennai like many indians who struggle to make ends meet kala is constantly in debt despite selling pretty much everything she has including her own kidney. i went to a group he told me that i could sell my kidney i agreed because i was in a bad situation and my children were small we did not even have any food to eat when the two thousand and four tsunami hit the coast of south asia kala was one of hundreds of thousands of people who lost everything in order to get back on her feet she got a loan that she was later unable to repay. and we had a lot of debt i had to borrow money to buy the fishing boat the people i borrowed money from started asking me for money they said they will come home and embarrass us if we didn't pay the money desperate and vulnerable tsunami survivors soon became the perfect targets for the illegal organ trade in india it's become known as the red market every year one hundred thousand indians need organ replacements a demand that drives an illegal supply with some organs even being sold to a small percentage of desperate transplant tourists in one thousand nine hundred four the indian government hatched a law meant to regulate organ donation in this country each recipient was supposed to get an organ from a donor who was in some way known to have even though each transplant was supposed to be approached by a committee of doctors it's almost impossible for anyone to stop money transactions from happening under the table in general when a recipient finds out that he or she needs an organ donor they normally approach friends or family for a match and when those options are exhausted rogue doctors or hospital staff can introduce the recipient to a broker usually a former illegal donor too who can scout nearby poor neighborhoods for someone who is well. to sell their kidney and go under the knife. and afford to buy good news for them all say part of it to this. is the law. though doctors also on a blind eye to this happening to transplants from the donor to the recipient take place in the hospital simultaneously the donor ends up making a little over a thousand dollars while the brokers can profit almost double that. i went to the broker he said he will give me fifty thousand rupees for my kidney it was supposed to be much more but the broker cheated us the donors also frequently are robbed of their health by before i used to run round and work a lot but now i can do as much work as they used to i find it difficult even to leave the point of what i can go to work i have severe pain in my abdomen and my chest. and while horror stories of the red market are exchanged among locals those with no options left are forced to take extreme measures sacrificing their health just to stay alive preassure either party chennai india. there's been a second spill at a north sea oil rig belonging to shell it follows one last week which has now been reduced to just two barrels per day but with an estimated two hundred tons having leaked into the water over six days environmentalist say the cleanup could take some time this is thought to be the worst spill in british waters in more than a decade well let's get more on the story from. an energy analyst from the environmental organization platform adam thanks very much indeed for joining us and just firstly what we know about this second oil spill do you know anything about that well shows. just place. we don't. both. relying on ships. and. all right what we do know though is officially understand that more than two hundred tons of water been spilled into an area of what something like one hundred square miles could you put this in perspective for us just just how serious could it be. where was the leg so for. a clown. the most significant. savings for us it's approaching records from them or not. well contrast many people referring to the bill for months for disaster last year. but i think what's important here is that the u.k. government has been rather smart in planning that its regulatory regimes were breasts. and resilient against the confluence of what happened. that will happen in the what's supposed. to go or spill calls for those crimes and question. could you perhaps tell us about the environmental impact at this stage is as much known about that and indeed the economic impact when we think about the area being pretty rich in fishing grounds for commercial fishing it is and will look. close to. those number of votes a particular. period of the year for breeding. of certain cities. and our sort of shows where it's been difficult in the south in the big players of already knowing growth. so there's definitely an absence or too early to say what those will be. just another charles using dispersants while controversy or. the use is questionable because for that it is done with more on the smaller boats and more difficult for. proper action staunchly. from. the source a much more possible for or. some other things that could be leaking into the riders to get into the sense to legal systems and so not only are you critical in the way that shell is trying to solve this crisis but also what about the way that they responded. to this they've rejected criticism that they did in fact respond properly promptly and properly over this but does that really appear to be the case and if so if not come expect any tough response from you catherine is on the way that shows handle this so far we do know which. ones. for our own government. don't have adequate information coming from shore certainly unsure. about a lot of. very small information and those. statements coming from. members of the company. which those pointed questions to which. could talk to you thanks very much indeed. joining us live there in the u.k. thank you and. a recent report by the bureau of investigative journalists say says that u.s. drone strikes in pakistan have killed at least three hundred eighty five civilians almost half of them children estimates by washington much lower and as chris woods a senior reporter at the bureau told me earlier that the cia are getting in the way of a comprehensive investigation. a minimum of three hundred eighty five civilians we think and as many as seven hundred seventy five civilians are among those killed just to be clear the cia has now admitted they have killed around fifty civilians in pakistan during the duration of the certainly years of the drone war but they say they haven't killed a civilian since my last year and our evidence suggests entirely the contrary we were hearing rumors of us officials in washington trying to cast aspersions on our study before it was even published. for example trying to link to someone they were claiming was a spy in pakistan and also raising doubts about the validity of our research itself we went back and looked at over two thousand individual media reports from pakistani u.s. u.k. international media looking at the strikes and then once we've actually untangled that process and got the clearest idea of what had taken place we don't cross-reference with a host of material which included legal studies case notes of lawyers who are fighting cases behalf of civilians from pakistan intelligence documents us secret cables through leaks point wiki leaks earlier this year and so on so we're trying to build up really as comprehensive a public view as we could of what's actually been taking place with these attacks. let's update you on some other world headlines now this hour in france a formal investigation has been opened into international monetary fund the chief christine legarde it needs to allegations from when she was france's finance minister when she approved a huge payment to a friend of president nicolas sarkozy she denies any misconduct and there is no suggestion she profited personally attorney believes the investigation won't affect her role as. chief. government takes to continue the siege of a syrian port city of latakia forcing thousands of palestinian refugees from their camp four days of shelling has claimed at least thirty lives and troops have been making house to house arrest officials have denied reports gunboats joined true. in the attempt to crush the uprising against president assad the un human rights council plans an urgent meeting on the syrian crackdown on. reporter. one of the few foreign journalists understanding of what's happening on our twitter feed she has all the latest updates. to. the international olympic committee has been checking construction for the sochi twenty fourteen games the team including the success keep what's going on. and to which we should look at it or do it to twenty four. but this is just the beginning. because you guys cheer for stocks really after the games next year here in this valley in sochi will see nineteen world class sporting events giving the venue at the old dry run before the facilities will be used for their primary purpose. russia's president and prime minister spent some time messing about on the volga river as they took some time off and they took some time out dimitri medvedev and vladimir putin went on a boat they also went for a dip with photography
