around 10:45 and ended 45 minute laters when she was safely released in guerneville which is in the russian rivery of sonoma county in the wine country. officers say she was texting a friend from inside the car and the trend was on the phone with dispatch and was giving descriptions of the car. officers on patrol saw the car and they tried to stop it but say the driver, the man who kidnapped the woman took off. they used spike strips twice but he went around them. he finally crashed. deputies helped her escape. a deputy trying to arrest him shot and killed him. they have not explained why. investigators say the woman is okay. she is being interviewed right new by officers. they have not told us if she knew him or how he kidnapped her or who she is and they say they are trying to sort out all of those details right now. reporting live in santa rosa for abc7 news. >> thank you, amy hollyfield. developing news from santa cruz, where police officers are returning to work today nearly throw daze after two officers were killed in the line of duty. cornell bernard joins us live from the santa cruz polic

it started as a kidnapping in san rafael and ended in guerneville in the russian river valley of thee country. it is in sonoma county the northwest of santa rosa. it ended there at 11:20, but it started at 10:45 when a woman was kidnapped and texting information to her friend from inside the car. she was trapped in there for 45 minutes when police finally were able to free her in guerneville. the shooting scene in guerneville officers say she was able to give a description of the car in her text, a patrol officer spotted the car and tried to stop him but he took off and they had to chase him using spike strips. he went around them a couple times and he finally lost control of the car and crashed in an embankment. deputies helped the woman escape and while they tried to arrest him a deputy shot and killed hill. a press release does not say why they shot the man. we hope to follow that up with police later today. the woman is okay. they are interviewing her right new. they are trying to get a handle on whether she knew the man, who he was, and why he did this. >> and now the weather fo
