joining us now is the chief executive, ruth shapiro.ou for joining us on such a timely topic. he talked about impact investing in the region. you talked about how there is a lack of it in terms of not living up to its growth potential. why do you think that is? you what this is. asia is home to 60% of the world's population and 50% of the gdp but 16% of all impact investing funds are in this region. the disparity is really striking. is, we justwhy that try to look at that. would you like me to tell you about it? david: yes, go for it. >> talk a little bit more about the gender angle and how women are filling this gap in some way. first, we wanted to know why more deals are not being made for social enterprises and impact investing. what we wanted to look at was most of the intention and the buzz is around the money. we wanted to look at demand. what are the organizations? the companies that are receiving or not receiving this funding? why is that the case? we surveyed 584 social enterprises and interviewed 136 founders and executives .s
