both found ethylene glycol in ryan's system. and the autopsy revealed calcium oxalate crystals in ryan's brian, consistent with ethylene glycol poisoning. tests on ryan's baby bottle also found trace amounts of ethylene glycol. >> everyone was saying there was ethylene glycol in the body. tests from different laboratories showed that. and everyone agreed if there's ethylene glycol in the body, it wasn't mma that killed the child. >> so the murder case against patricia stallings went to trial. prosecutors were seeking the death penalty. despite the genetic illness diagnosed in d.j., patricia stallings' defense attorney could not produce one medical expert to testify that it was mma and not antifreeze poisoning that caused ryan's death. >> i put on my witnesses. all of them said ethylene glycol. all of them said it had to be ingested. all of the evidence pointed toward patty stallings. if somebody fed the baby antifreeze, it must have been her. >> the jury also heard what patricia stallings said to the social worker when informed

ryan chilcote is standing by. hear more of your interview as we go through the morning but give us a sense of how confident the government is about the country's future. >> they seem reasonably confident. the question is is that a false sense of confidence because they themselves quite clearly believe that they do not know what is going to happen next with the economy, with the ruble because it depends as you heard there on what the price of oil is going to be. as you can see, pretty much everybody thinks that there guess is as good as anyone else's. we have seen the volatility of the ruble continue. last year was a disastrous year for the ruble. one of the world's worst performing currencies. it strengthened just a tad and clawed backs of its losses but it has been down again since the start of 2015 with the notable exception of a correction because we saw a in the oil price. they are reasonably confident that they are more than a little concerned that the biggest factor determining what happens here next is some

let's get to ryan chilcote. he is on the ground in brussels. several foreign ministers to read you have been working hard all evening. what is the appetite for deeper sanctions? >> in effect what the foreign ministers did yesterday was kicked the can up to their bosses. the heads of state of the 28 eu countries. they kicked it down the road, the sanctions can. when they get together in brussels. what they did do last night was agreed to expand their blacklist. to extend some of the sanctions they composed last year. specifically once imposed just after the annexation of crimea. these sanctions, in batches. this sanction scale if 10 is the worst and iran is eight or nine russia was a four. now with the expansion of the blacklist, maybe it is 4.25 . there is the potential that if the heads of state 12, they can take it to a six. there is not a huge appetite for that now. but everything keeps changing when it comes to the sanctions. who knows what will happen over the next two weeks. the really exciting story was the greeks. were they going to der
