donahue at logan on his >> it's some guys you want to know. matt, same thing, just a very, very easy, quiet type of guy. they didn't deserve that, that's for sure. >> ryan knows both officers. apparently the bullet suffered the artery of morris' leg. richard cintolo, 27 years, a boston cop. he was shot in the throat and shoulder. both officers lost a lot of both, you know. >> this is an instant shock. your thoughts, your prayers, your hopes, you're praying for everything to go well after the fact. >> reporter: nick donahue nearly lost all his blood when he was shot in the leg during the watertown shootout. >> it definitely rings true, but from what i hear up to this point that it looks like some of the things that changes, the training, the tools that went to and after my shooting hopefully helped to save the officers lives. >> reporter: a lot of police officers nowadays are getting training on wounds like this for tourniquets, how to use a tourniquet, how to apply a tourniquet properly. apparently in this case one of those tourniquets was applied to officer morris. again, very good news. both officers are now in stable, but still critical condition. th
