ryan elijah joins us live here in the studio with what's on tap for later today. >> good morning. a busy day for sure. the president will meet with cuban president raul castro in hopes of influencing the communist country to change. the president and the first lady and the first family touched down in havana yesterday afternoon. them. the president is the first sitting president to visit the island nation in 88 years. his trip being called a crowning moment in an effort to restore former countries. >> this is a historic visit and it's a historic opportunity to engage directly with the cuban people and to forge new agreements and commercial deals, to about new ties between our two peoples and for me to lay out my vision for a future that's brighter than our past. >> of course, the trip is not without controversy. there are some major obstacles still in the way for the president to achieve that. the president asked congress to appeal the embargo. the efforts have been blocked by republican leaders who have a different view of how the two countries should come together. back to you.
