abc's ryan owens has the story. >> reporter: in the middle of tornado alley, they're cleaning up from a different kind of natural disaster. one that buckled roads and rattled nerves. >> we grabbed the bed to stabilize ourselves. >> reporter: his chimney collapsed. it was the strongest of a series of quake this is weekend on a known fault like. oklahoma actually has quite a bit of seismic activity. never this trong. the epicenter was near the tiny town of sparks. population just more than 100. people felt it all across the country. >> we just had, i think, an rt quake. >> reporter: espn was on the air when in the quake shook this college football stadium. 50 miles from the epicenter. >> i literally thought the stadium was rocking, like people were stepping down off this platform i'm on. >> reporter: no one was hurt. there was quite a bit of damage. >> we have a pretty good crack that goes all the way up. >> reporter: this quake shattered something else. the record boox. why not? it's been that kind of year in oklahoma. 2011 broke the record here for the hottest summer, the coldest ever

ryan owens joins us from houston with more. ryan. >> reporter: good morning to you, george. if this script were for a movie of the week, that one would believe that script. the case unfolding in the building behind me has it all. a love triangle, a trio of hitmen, and a marriage that somehow survived it all. the houston socialite left court hand in hand with the husband prosecutors say tried to have her kill three times. >> i love my husband. i believe in him wholeheartedly. of his innocence. >> reporter: on the stand, yvonne stern cheerfully told the jury, how alleged hitman damian flores, walked up to her suv and shot her at point-blank range. the bullet pierced her purse. then her stomach. then, an attempt on her life, may of the next year. after that, another hitman shot a gun through the toor door of her mansion. he missed. and after that, another gunman sprayed her house with bullets. she wasn't home. prosecutors say attorney jeff stern and his mistress, michelle gaiser, were behind all three murder attempts. and that the
