i'm veronica macias in for ryan yamamoto. a big break in the shooting death of an oakland mother of eight. police saying that they've made several arrests at a news conference a short time ago. police say they took one man and two teens into custody for the deadly shooting of maria ramos on august 7th. ramos and her mother confronted a group in a car suspected of dealing drugs near the intersection of hilton and bancroft avenue. ramos was then shot by one of the people in the vehicle. she later died at that scene. today, oakland pd, sharing how they were able to make a quick arrest >>>>within minutes. our patrol team and our special resources team sprung into action, identifying the vehicle, locating the vehicle and then quickly taking three suspects into custody within the next 12 hours. >veronica>and our da lin is looking into this story for us. we'll have much more coming up tonight at five. governor gavin newsom is in san jose today signing groundbreaking legislation to fight retail crime across the state of california. t

good afternoon, i'm ryan yamamoto. the oakland a's officially cutting ties to the stadium where they called home since april of 1968. the athletics and its owner, john fisher, have agreed to sell their half of the coliseum to the african american sports and entertainment group for $125 million. the private development group also struck a deal with the city of oakland. this happened last week to buy its share of the site for $105 million. the investment group says it will now move forward with a $5 billion project, converting the space into housing, restaurants. a new convention center and a community entertainment spaces. a's president, david cobble said in a statement that rc g as a community oriented vision for the long term development of the site and will be strong stewards of that property. the a's bought the alameda county's share of the coliseum back in 2019. the team, of course, is on its way out of oakland with plans to play in west sacramento next season while they wait for a stadium to be built in las vegas.

good afternoon, i'm ryan yamamoto. the alameda county fire department is responding to that video that surfaced over the weekend. it shows an off duty firefighter berating another driver with racist language after a traffic collision. this is footage recorded by the driver of that incident that happened friday. this happened along highway 99 in lodi. you can see the firefighters standing at the driver's window after the two had been involved in a car accident in that video, they are arguing about who's at fault, and the firefighters heard making comments about the driver's race. and at one point saying he works a quote lawn job. the alameda county fire chief addressed that confrontation in a press conference this morning. >>>>i consider it a embarrassing behavior and something that's not supported by the organization, acfd has taken a critical look inward and assessing where we are with our training and our guidance for our personnel and our organizational culture. we are taking immediate steps to improve relationships
