our ongoing clean power s.f. enrolment and service to customers continues to move along successfully. this month, clean power s.f. is conducting one of our regular quarterly enrolments. bringing on an additional 1600 customers that signed up for the program during the month of april through august of this year or have solar on the rooftops and participate in net energy metering. with october's enrolment, we are actively serving about 109,000 accounts within the city with a cumulative opt out percentage of 3.1%. that is pretty consistent with what we reported the last meeting. our super green upgrade rate continues to exceed that rate and it is 3.6% of active customers. that means that more than 3800 businesses and households in san francisco have chosen to receive 100% eligible renewable and greenhouse gas free electricity from clean power s.f. the next section of our update is on outreach and communications. for this portion of the update i will turn things over to tyler gamble. the acting director of communicat

finally, around the time this was getting moving along, walk s.f. had approached us with ideas of how to improve this. all of these are informing you of what you are seeing before you today. we will be looking at three sections of the code. 138.1 and pedestrian improvements. 155 are, we are protecting the streets and three '03 -- 303 which defines condition of approval. basically, 138.1 allows the city to compel developers or require developers to make streetscape improvements. it establishes the improvements they can make and establishes sidewalk improvements between their agencies pick today we will be asking you to endorse ideas that will help to simplify and clarify the code and enable the city to acquire new streetscape features that we can currently only request a bill -- developers build and find some of the triggers. we think it just think of it as a right sizing the triggers. and allow time for interagency coordination. for 155 are, this section of the code prohibits curb cuts on protected frontages and those are walking biking transit seat

while we have to measure future expansions, including prioritizing the hope s.f. project, we do not expect to pull back on existing commitments. please allow me to present an overview of where we are at the housing authority. the housing authority establish close working relationships with the mayor's office of housing and community development. the san francisco controller's office, hope s.f., numerous other city departments over the past few years. we eliminated a $7 million budget deficit through cost-saving measures and concessions with bargaining units. we balance budgets through 2019. although administrative and public housing deficits are projected to return from 2020, due to the difference between it revenues we will be receiving and actual expenditures to maintain our remaining properties. we accelerated repairs and eliminated a 3,000 backlog of work orders for public housing residents and increased rent collections. we recruited and hired key housing choice vouchers, human resources, legal department department and other management staff we have converte

s.f. ordinance is drafted to mirror that. any family who were not original occupants, no matter how long they lived in the home are completely unprotected. who knows whether it was intended to be as broad as it is, but this particular section has and continues to have disastrous effects. in 2010, judd bell moved in with his partner to share the studio she lived since 1995. when she died in december of 2017, he was hit with a massive rent hike, seven times when he and wiki had been paying. sadly the story is not unique. more, mr. b. lived with his partner of 35 years in a flat in the castro. weeks after his partner died, the landlord was going to raise the rent 300%. and miss k. had huge increases after her husband died and another was evicted and homeless because he could not pay the rent after his partner of 20 years passed away. list goes on and on and on. very real stories point out the utter ugliness of the rental market. we know there are good landlords out there and many are speaking out, but it's being controlled by co

just to refresh your memories, sunnydale hope s.f.s the existing revitalization of the housing site into a new development with all new housing, 17 -- over 1700 units of affordable and moderate income housing, 60% of which are affordable, including replacement units for existing households. the other public benefits of this development will be that we'll be creating an all new utility and street infrastructure grid, new services to serve the community, and 30,000 square feet of neighborhood space and mixed use buildings. we started our first building the master development plan in january on an infill site that we purchased across the street from the development, and we are now in predevelopment and permitting for block six, affordable housing development and the associated infrastructure of five acres. we are hoping to start the construction of the infrastructure portion next spring, spring-summer and then follow that immediately with the construction of block six. so we are requesting the board of supervisors' approval for a master

we wanted to be data-driven as everything in vision zero s.f. is but be community-oriented.ecause we know that there is a strong sense of community within that motorcycle riding population of san francisco and that like all people, they respond better to in group messages rather than the sfmta saying things at them. so we wanted to get community leaders on our side to endorse that message. with their help and input, we have produced educational materials like these adds that were up this year for motorcycle safety month on buses and light rail vehicles and we made these patches that you see that we give to people who go through our safety ambassador program. we made these postcards telling people about the dangers of speeding and other issues in san francisco and everything that we have produced was an english, spanish, chinese, and filipino. and a big plank of what we did was we held 11 motorcycle safety ambassador trainings. where anybody from the motorcycle riding community could come and get educated by the first six of them by sfpd motorcycle officers, and then the seco
