[laughter] >> when i first went to the art institute before the adventures were formed in 77, i was going to be a painter. i did not know i would turn into a punk singer. i got back into painting and i mostly do portraiture and figurative painting. one of the things about this job here is i discovered some great resources for images for my painting. i was looking through these mug shot books that we have here that are from the 1920s. i did a whole series of a mug shot paintings from those books. they are in the san francisco history centre's s.f. police department records. there are so many different things that the library provides for san franciscans that i feel like a

so um, our office has been engaging with s.f. travel to figure out more creative ways to draw more of visitors to our local small businesses. um, but also just keep in mind that they are a membership based association. so we are again, trying to do what we can, um, uh, aside from that, that structure, uh, and also just to remind everyone that shop in sf, which is the campaign that our office runs, is really the way that we are trying to promote, um, uh, people, visitors getting more deeply into the neighborhoods because what we have noticed is that all those other travel sites, they don't curate lists as, as you know. well, um, and so all of the guided walks and tours that are on shop in sf for each neighborhood, they came from, the community. they came from the local. whether it's a merchants association or other association in the community, we ask them to give us like what are your top like 9 to 12 stops in your corridor? so those are we really encourage people to go to shop in sf and check out those pages and, and um, you kno

s.f. native my whole life. so really happy to actually be in front of the board. my overall role as fresh specialist. i like to think of it as a bridge builder. i really do meet students where they're at in the halls, elevator shafts, stair wells and really get to know them on a holistic level. why they're out in the halls, what they're currently either running away from looking to meet or looking to get out of their overall unstructured time after getting to know them. you know, because our students are generally either missing class, missing their gpas, or a combination of both. um, but getting to know them in the halls after we have established rapport building out the team, which consists of getting to know the parents, getting to know their teachers, understanding the various interests so that we can try to connect them to supports inside and outside of our school. so having meetings, really understanding them at their core, and then identifying like, all right, if the students interest is football, getting connected to the football coach really understanding

including the famous concert venue bottom of the hill, the parkside and scheduled for relocation this year, s.fwer mart. today, most of the corridor has traditional bike lanes sandwiched between, curb parking and the travel lane. traditional bike lanes have conflict points, either when cars cross the bike lane to reach the curb, or when drivers open their doors without looking or when double parking forces people to merge into the travel lane, which can feel like swimming in a river of steel and glass, the one exception is the westbound portion on the north side, starting at rhode island, which is against the curb without any parking. we started an engagement, in 2022. we started our effort introducing the project and talking to the stakeholders. we heard a range of perspectives and we were thorough in our efforts with emails. doorknocking flyering, street fairs and meetings with neighborhood associations and merchant groups. overall, we talked to more than 25 businesses on the corridor, another 20 through the potrero dogpatch merchants association, four major employers in mission bay with coll
