so later this morning, the bay area toll authority will meet in s.f.consider a series of 50 cent toll hikes that would start january 1st of 2026 for five years for all seven state owned bridges. we're talking about antioch bay, benicia, martinez, carquinas, dumbarton, richmond, san rafael and the san mateo-hayward bridges. this does not include the golden gate, which is under its own authority, so if approved, tolls would go from the 850 and 2026 to eventually $10.50 in 2030. this is for people using fastrack license plate or invoice. tolling would be slightly more. this is for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the bridges. and what this will do is allow us to meet our statutory obligations to keep the bridges in a state of good repair without having to borrow money to do so. that was john goodwin with the bay area toll authority and the metropolitan points out that the west span of the bay bridge is 88 years old, and newer east span is just over ten years old, and all the other state owned bridges are somewhere in between. so in other words, they
