but we heard strong feedback from the s.f. mtard and other policymakers that they wanted other choices so at the february 18th meeting we brought the mta board three options. one was the service cuts. the second was to tap into the agency reserve and the third was a whole series of non-service cuts that we could look at kind of ranging from relatively not controversial like reducing our joint spending on station maintenance with bart where they actually don't think they're going to be able to do quite as much maintenance as we had budgeted for to very controversial like eliminate the city's crossing guard program at that meeting the board gave us some initial direction and the first is that they did not want to see us cut the crossings program but they did recognize that this is a program that initially was built with the expectation that we would have about $500,000 of support from the school district which has been reduced to about $75,000 over time. so we are looking for creative funding sources for that program and they also a
