let's get right out to sabina kuriakose who is live in north philadelphia. sabina it didn't take long for police to fine the car. >> reporter: no, dawn, not at all. that surveillance footage came out yesterday. police say the owner recognized his car and then turned it in to police this morning. here's a photo. a man who lives near the scene where the car was turned in post posted this to facebook. it's a white 2006 infinity sedan sedan. police say a piece of glass recovered from the hit-and-run along mascher street monday night fits perfectly on to the damaged driver's side health of the car. the thing is, there's still looking for the man they think was behind the wheel. when it struck two-year-old david and his 19 year old mother josephine rivera. david died as a result of his injuries just yesterday morning. josephine is at home and recovering. now police say the car owner and his girlfriend drove the car into philadelphia from williamsport then allowed 19-year-old relative to borrow it. he returned the car and the couple actually drove back to williamsp

fox 29's sabina kuriakose live in north philadelphia tonight. sabina how did police find this car?> reporter: well, chris the owner turned it in but he says he was not the one driving it when this incident happened. here is the car. we do have a picture of it. a man who says he lives near where the car was turned in in west philadelphia posted it on facebook. it's a 2006 white infinity sedan with front end health damage. now, police say they are certain it's the car that struck and killed two-year-old david monday evening. and badly hurt his mother josephine rivera as she tried to field shield him from the impact. the accident investigations division is lead the probe a young couple turned the car in about 6:00 o'clock this morning to the 19th district. after seeing surveillance footage on the news of the hit-and-run. now, the boyfriend owns the car. he's from williamsport but says he and his girlfriend were visiting relatives when they length the car to a 19-year-old relative a plant. they didn't know anything was wrong they even drove car back to williamsport before realizing the
