. >> fox 29's sabina kuriakose reports from northwest detectives. >> report roar police say these were two violent criminals who turned something as routine as ordering chinese take out into a brutal assault. >> two men like that. restaurant owner peter lu was just about done cooking up a late night order when his customer was viciously attacked and robbed. >> they take the money out and put some money on the counter. >> reporter: surveillance video shows two men walking into the new would know house chinese restaurant on north broad around quarter to 1:00 thursday morning. the man with the backpack reaches for the customer's wallet they struggle and the victim is struck in the face. adding insult to injury, police say the other suspect grabs the cash off the counter and takes off. >> i feel so bad. >> based on the time, you know, a lot of these crimes are crimes of tune. >> reporter: police captain maliki jones says although the suspects didn't use a weapon they still violently assaulted the 62-year-old victim and may even have been lying in wait for a potential target. >> males going

sabina kuriakose outside the courthouse with the latest on this, sabina?od morning, karen, thomas. well, 28 year old david desper has been held in custody without bail since he was charged with the murder of teenager bianca roberson. this was horrific and random act, it completely rocked our area. let's go to the photo that we have of bianca who can forget this young woman's smiling face. she had just graduated from high school. she would have been starting college in the next couple of weeks. she had dreams of becoming a f.b.i. agent. prosecutors say, this is the male, going to his photo, david desper, they allege he killed her in cold blood as the two strangers merged lanes on the end of route 100 in west goshen on june 30th, it was about a week before july 4th. lets guess to surveillance video that we got at the scene of the at the time that it happened. authorities say, desper shot roberson once in the head, before speeding off, and dumping his red pick-up truck that you can see in the surveillance video. that will spark a massive manhunt, in fact, aut

sabina kuriakose at the chester county courthouse in west chester with more on what's happening this morning. >> reporter: good morning, mike and alex. well, here, at the chester county courthouse, the trial is set to start. it will be the first formal arraignment for david desper, now, last week he had preliminary hearing, it was the first time he came face-to-face with his alleged victim's family. at that hearing he waived his right to it, so it really on the lasted few minutes, let's go to his photo, mugshot provided by police, cameras were not allowed in the courtroom last week, but desper entered with his handcuffed, and shackled, he did not look at bianca roberson's family. let's go to photo of bianca. this was the alleged victim. prosecutors say desper shot 18 year old roberson in the head as two merged lanes back in june on route 100 in west goshen. now, surveillance video caught what cops say was desper's red pick-up truck leaving the scene shortly after bianca's car crashed. it was later found dumped in a neighborhood. after a three day national manhunt with police getting
