more than 40 aftershocks continued to be felt in greenville north of sacramento. that's where a major earthquake hit last night just before 9:00. this morning, we have new pictures and video of that earthquake which some say was felt as far south as right here in the bay area. bob redell joins us live in the usgs in menlo park with new pictures and video from overnight. good morning. >>> good morning to you, marla. seismologists tell us how interesting it is that so many people did feel this earthquake so far south. there were people throughout the bay area that reported feeling this 5.7 quake last night. that's note worthy, because its epicenter was in túgreenville, plum me plumes county. dozens of aftershocks are rallying that part of the state. the grocery store in greenville put this video up on its facebook page showing items falling from the shelves when the quake hit. you can see lights starting to flicker. one man in greenville posted this youtube video showing a crack that formed after the big quake struck. he also shared video of water leaping out of hi

sacramento is reporting back in 2006, caltrans discovered steel tendons in the skyway section of the bridge were exposed to rain walter and were starting to corrode. at the time, caltrans determined there was no problem. however, the sacramento bridge claims they miscalculated the extent of the corrosion and several experts are questioning the durability of the span, specially in the event of a major earthquake. the news does not sit well with bay area drivers. >> when it is finished, i will probably avoid it and let a couple thousand people get a test run first. >> caltrans maintains the bridge is safe and is reacting to the latest concerns, telling the paper, corrosion has been an issue since the first steel bridge that was built and what we've learned from this particular challenge six years ago is that we are never going to be done fighting the battle against corrosion in the san francisco bay. >>> a 27-year-old coach at walnut creek's north gate high school will be in court this morning charged with having sex with a student. christopher yang was an assistant coach for the girl'
