what's going on in old sacramento? we are waiting to hear back from sacramento police on whether they've seen an increase in crime, but we do know the area has seen violence in the past six months. in february, sacramento police rep up patrols in old sac after violent fights broke out involving teens, and in january, and and was shot along second street. meantime, police tell cbs, officers are seeing a rise in homicide since 2019. since january 1st to the end of may this year, citywide, police have made over 200 arrests related to illegal firearm possession, and they're seeing a 120% increase in firearm related assaults. >> said that this is what we are coming to. >> reporter: patty rodriguez lived just across the river, and feels the area is starting to get overrun with people who are up to no good. >> i think problems are common with them. >> sad when you have to feel worried about going to a place, to see that you're going to be safe and be able to come home. >> reporter: charisse is taking note of unwelcome crime,
