compared to the previous red flag warnings as the humidity levels will be lower for parts of the sacramento valley into solano county. this is also where the winds will be rushing by. this doesn't look like we'll see the widespread wind events, especially in some of the valleys. we'll not have those high winds. mainly the upper elevations where you see the bright colors and those winds are going to potentially increase to 20 to 35 miles per hour and a lot of us in the valleys really won't even feel this wind event. so it looks more likely they'll cut off the power to a smaller region compared to what we had previously. and then after that, temperatures head up. look at concord. the 10-day forecast. the weekend is going to feel like summer with mid-80s. then cooling down by early next week. and then looking ahead, some of our forecasts and the outlook shows some above normal amounts of rainfall here as well as cooler than normal temperatures from here down to southern california. that would definitely be a welcome sight. we're dry for the next seven days but our temperatures still going up and down

solano county as well as much of the sacramento valley. this is not the widespread event we had to start the week but still the winds picking up in high fire danger causing a lot of concerns. this as the winds are coming in from the north through the central valley, funnel through the delta, and our hour by hour wind speed forecast shows the winds could get pretty strong even in some of our north bay hills. with very low humidity and high winds, any fires that get started especially in the extremely dry vegetation could spread very rapidly. as we go into this evening the winds will start to calm down. a lot of us in the valleys will not feel those high winds but this is definitely a localized event that will cause some high concerns. i'm keeping a close eye on fairfield and some of the sensors there right now. winds in about 15 miles per hour and today temperatures will be slightly warmer heading up close to 80 degrees. we'll talk about more warming in our forecast and also more changes ahead coming up in a few minutes. >> thanks, kari. so

of the conditions, the right combination of very low humidity and offshore wind mainly in the sacramento valleyin solano county. this does continue until 8:00 this evening, so we keep you updated on it. they will start bouncing back over the next couple of hours, and the wind will start dying down. this should be allowed to expire at 8:00 this evening. the overall weather pattern is shifting. this area of high pressure is getting closer to the coast. once it is closer, it is no longer squeezing the atmosphere, producing the wind, but it also means temperatures will be even warmer tomorrow and saturday. then some more big changes further down the line as a storm system makes its way towards the pacific coast. we will see a sharp drop in temperatures on sunday, and even a chance for a couple of showers, mainly north of the golden gate. we'll talk more about that in a second. as the wind shifts, we see the onshore wind kick into bring some smoke towards the bay area from the fires burning in southern california, particularly around santa barbara. him of that makes its way into the santa clara vall

there is a lot of smoke getting pulled into much of the sacramento valley, but here at home, that is advisory for tomorrow with moderate air quality and could be better than it was today and by tuesday we should be done but there is the smoke and it is filling the entire central valley and there is the offender the kmp complex burning outside sequoia national park and that thing is still going and still putting a lot of smoke into the sky but most of stayinthe central vallt thpicks up on that theris the depiction of what we were looking at and if we let it play forward we see tonight there is more smoke coming our way in the overnight hours so that gets us by tuesday at midnight we have plenty of smoke in the upper levels but once we get into the day on tuesday everything starts to get pushed back and that is the start of a process that will really rearrange the whole atmosphere and not only will it get the smoke out of here but it will bring in much cooler air and a small chance of rain in the first order of business tomorrow morning slows go back down into the upper 50s for most lo

the northerly wind on the backend and the colors brightened the wind pours out of the northern sacramento valley that is why we have a red flag warning and northerly winds for us and by the time they get here they are coming out of the northeast, and that is bad because they're hitting the mountains had on and speeding over the tops of them and rushing down the other side and that warms them up and dries the air out and that is why we have a red flag warning. so that goes from tomorrow -- tonight at 11:00 to tuesday afternoon and 60 mile-per-hour gusts. here is the wind advisory tomorrow morning from nine a clock a.m. to eight a clock in the evening and it will come in two pulses on the first one tomorrow morning early before sunrise and we start to notice 30 mile- per-hour gusts in the north bay but in the afternoon everybody else notices it and colors are a lot brighter everywhere else and it is about a 35 mile-per- hour gust at this point and that is the main impact for the majority, but once we get to tomorrow night, even though the numbers are lower now and much lighter wind by tuesday morn

we're going to watch some of the winds make their way right out of the sacramento valley and back into the bay area. the north bay first you get into 3, 4, 5 o'clock in the morning and you're talking about some gusty winds, maybe some 30, maybe some 40 mile an hour gusts across the mountain peaks not down the urban areas, but across the mountain peaks. then as we head through the morning tomorrow. those winds will continue to pick up and you can see all those gusty winds. they're developing through that area in the even parts of the east bay. the diablo range is going to be blustery out during the day and then by tomorrow afternoon, things begin to calm down as those winds begin to subside. but here's a right around noon tomorrow, you'll expect to see those. so when you see the peaks of the mountains here in the red up above. that's where models are forecasting the strongest gusts. some of those gusts of 30 to 40 miles per hour. so very dangerous weather out there around the bay area cooled off right now. we've got some 40's and some 50, some a very dry air going to be moving in overni
