sadler. he is running a campaign with a great deal of courage because he is running an unapologetically liberal campaign and is running in support of raising taxes, a host of liberal views. i commend him for his candor in that. i do not think those are the values of most texans. i am curious, mr. sadler, which texans would you raise taxes on, and which texans would do not raise taxes on? >> do you consider it liberal to say we have to balance the budget and pay down national debt. do you think is liberal to cut spending? i think is liberal to cut taxes when you are operating a deficit, because you are spending money. >> i do not think your labels mean a lot. what i have said from the beginning -- the centerpiece of our problems is the national debt. we simply have to look at this. whether we do it this year because of the way our economy is or next year, $2.3 trillion. >> i want you to respond to this. >> i'm glad there is a clear contrast between the two of us. i do not believe we should rai

sadler. >> how would you address the 1.6 million or more undocumented in texas now. mr. sadler, you want to give them a route to legal status. how would that work exactly? sadler: as a state, it's important to deal with the issue. if we don't start dealing with it, ten years from now, we'll be arguing about it. we have a rich, diverse culture. what i said is that we have to, obviously, secure the border. we ought to pass the dream act, do a temporary work permit so we know who is here and they participate as the gentleman described on the screen. there should be a reasonable way to citizenship at the back of the line. put, really, whatever restrictions we want as long as they are reasonable. speak english, not have committed a crime, been here for a sufficient amount of time. these things help us move past this because our strength in our state is our diversity. nobody's giving amnesty. they have to earn the right to be an american citizen. we need to get past this because our state's too imp

sadler. you have an uphill battle. raising money has been hard. only $139,000 through july for your campaign. the democratic party has been behind you for the primary against a totally unknown candidate. democrats in texas are not totally behind you. why should independent or moderate republican voters consider you? >> do not confuse the texas democratic party with the national democratic party. the texas democratic party is very strongly behind me. it has been pretty amazing. the national party made its decision a year ago, a long time ago. i would not read too much into that aspect of it. the texan democratic party is strongly behind me. republicans and independents should support me because of my bipartisan record. i have a record of accomplishment. i work on education bills and a tax cut. that was done with the republican governor, is split between republicans and democrats in the house and senate. it was a bipartisan effort. we got it done for texas. >> your funding reports are due in tw

some of the stories we're squawking about, sadlers among the stocks hitting new all-time highs.he past 12 months. dean foods up 12% on whitewave's unit. says it expects between $14 and $16 a share. different story for apollo group. down 17% on some weaker quarterly earnings, shrinking enrollment. apollo cutting about 800 jobs and shutting off of its campus to save costs. >>> meanwhile, crude oil inventories, sharon has the data. >> the data shows, same crone, that crude inventories in the last week rose by 2.9 million barrels. 2.9 million barrels with the increase in crude supply, that is greater than the 1.5 million barrel that's analysts were anticipating but it is less than what the american pa toll yumm institute reported last evening. gasoline, though, inventories rose by 1.7 million barrels. that was a bigger increase than analysts were expecting. in fact, many analysts were expecting to see a decline. we are looking at gasoline futures coming off here and declining as a result. and we're looking at fuel supplies that declined by 2.2 million barrels, a big drop there in di
