[chuckles] i'm going to talk about the first one, regarding -- again, i think this is something that those of you that experience individuals violating the law of our front yard setbacks. many people in my district and i know other districts, share this concern. but individuals have been a rampant problem of paving over parts of their front yard that are required as part of the green setback, often times to add additional parking and or space to the environment. the planning department is the key agency that the concerns are referred to. what we are proposing today is to expand some of the oversight to the department of building inspection, when a building inspector goes out to look for violations they would now be required to look for and identify if there's been a violation of a front yard paving over. we think more eyes out there, the fact the department of building inspection has more inspectors and actual individuals that are tasked with responding to not just this type of compla

supervisor safai? >> supervisor a. safai: sorry, i have a lot to talk about today. it just happens to be a busy day. this is one we are excited about, myself and supervisor ronen. we met in an office of supervisor campos. we highlighted this issue on calle de quatro, sadly it looks like that business through a family dispute is going out of business. but that idea stuck with us. a limited use restaurant, a cafe or a bakery can use its commissary kitchen when it's not using it as a primary purpose for the baking or cafe could use that space as an accessory use for catering. this is a way to enhance and stabilize existing small businesses often legacy businesses in the instance of la victoria, they had been in existence, and have been in existence and still continue to, hopefully something will change. but they have been there since the late 60's and they have been doing this catering since that time. in fact, when i met the current owner jaime maldonado, he told me his father catered the democratic convention that happened in san francisco all the way back then. this

. >> supervisor safai: thank you. very excited about this again. similar it the environmental legislation that we worked on regarding straws and single-use plastic items, this is something that we worked on in parallel. this is something that we put together as a pilot for our neighborhoods, rather than an extensive, city-wide conversation, though we're happy to have that. we wanted to move fore barred with this pilot. each district has a list that is permitted, not permitted or need conditional use. each of us have our own tables and there are some uses that were not permitted when we began this conversation, one of which was important in our neighborhood that were activities. these were not permitted in my district. there's an application pending that will allow for an arts activity along with artist space. so we're excited about that. it's a space that's been dormant for over 10 years. the approach we had in this legislation was among mission street and other areas has one of the highest rates of vacancies and empt

with that, supervisor safai? >> supervisor safai: thank you, chair tang. i want to clarify a couple of things that i heard today. i understand the reservation that folks have regarding bullet number 11, regarding new construction, but it seems to me based on what i've heard, that could be easily taken care of by discussing it as new construction that didn't involve any demolition. as there's a lot of vacant parcels in the city where you are building, so that -- i know we've received some letters that we didn't want to encourage any demolition or displacement, that we could -- i'm wondering if there's a way, if planning wants it talk about that, talking about it in terms of new construction that didn't allow demolition or displacement? >> supervisor tang:ly add context really quickly for why remove that for creation of a.d.u.s in new construction is because of what came up in planning commission. it was an argument related to the housing accountability act and if sponsors could say, they were not allowed to build a certain number of units. for me, the issue

>> supervisor safai: 300,000. it is a citywide focus. and then the last one is under the category of art. and art access. so we have a wonderful facility out in stern grove that is a significant amount of free programming and concert promotion and bringing in arts to the city. we also have a wonderful amphitheater and music venue in mclaren park. the jerry garcia amphitheater. this would allow for there to be a commitment to programming on a larger citywide scale to bring in additional music programming and additional access to that part of town. is the second-largest park in the city. it has been operating some music opportunities picked up against one of the most successful one is jerry day at the jerry garcia amphitheater. we have the opportunity to expand that programming as additional funding would allow for that. >> supervisor cohen: what is the funding you are suggesting? >> supervisor safai: $100,000. >> supervisor cohen: just so i am clear, all the figures that you've given, are these just first year allocations? >> supervisor s
